Söderberg Bakery Shop — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Yum. I repeat, YUM!

I wrote this a year ago, after regularly buying their 'Laxora' sandwiches (and also a variety of their cakes), from their Broughton Street shop.

It is therefore a great shame that they no longer make their 'Laxora' smoked salmon sandwich with their delicious bread, but have instead decided to present them in a VERY plain, white, boring 'baguette' style roll. If I wanted one of those, I'd have gone to Greggs.

However, to be fair, I emailed Soderberg and asked why they had done this. They replied to say that they'd get back to me. That was a couple of months ago, and I still haven't heard back from them.

Fortunately, there are numerous other establishments in this area that stock sandwiches and cakes so, along with my office colleagues, until Soderberg deign to get back to me, we'll be spending our lunch...

Great pastries terrible staff. Went in one day lovely young lady served us. Asked if she could warm up our baked good we ordered no issue. Next time i went back was met by a very smug Asian guy who I assume is the manager or possibly Söderberg himself the way he acted toward us. Asked for our baked good to be warmed up to be told no we don’t have any way of doing that. In a rude manner. To say the least I didn’t feel like bothering calling him out on the lie ... During check out was texting on his phone half paying attention to myself a customer. and needless to say do not go to this location or any as how terrible the service from that guy representing...

We were here on 6th July as we saw they had kanelbullar. We are from Stockholm, now living in London. The service was excellent. The kanelbullar were very good. We then saw a proper looking white sour dough bread and bought that for 3.50. Sadly, it was grt in smell and outward appearance, meaning, they had a good starter but alas, the bread was so dense with hardly any pockets of air, it was not fun to eat. Not professionally baked. Believe you me, I am an expert in sour dough and other kinds of breads. Took this bread back to London...
