The man who served us was not only rude and obnoxious but practically asked us to leave if we were only going to browse so that other people could come in... mind you we had to wait long enough before we were allowed to come in as only 2 ppl are permitted in the shop at the same time... and not to mention we actually wanted to buy something so we weren’t just intentionally wasting his precious little time!!! That was my first and most definitely last time in this horrid place!! Although American sweets and sushi mats are now creeping into supermarkets, I still find that when I'm following a recipe that calls for, say, cornmeal or pumpkin whatever, it's easiest to just go to Lupe Puntos and try there first. Beyond that, they also often stock DIET root beer, which delights me because it's difficult to find elsewhere in single cans. Read moreThe 1st time i want to Lupe Pintos I was trying to track down a bottle of a particular hot sauce and was told
"We dont stock that one because frankly its not very good, we have hotter and we have tastier" and i was pointed in the direction of a shelf with a large selection of hot sauces (Which seems to grow on every visit). I asked for recommendations on a properly hot one and was given a bottle of who dares burns which went down a treat.
Also there is a selection of American sweets which can make a nice change from the norm and a fridge full of import beers and soft drinks which has some nice things to take the edge off of a hot afternoon on the odd occasion...
