Having been awake 26 hours by the time we landed in Edinburgh, we were in dyer need of food. A quick Google for "vegetarian breakfast" and this cafe was top of the list in Edinburgh, and for a good reason. A short stroll from the Princes Street Tram Stop and down a lane was the cafe. We were greeted by a lovely lady, whose name we forgot to get, but she's the one with the fab DJ nails! We ordered two veggie breakfasts and had a great chat with the server. Food arrived piping hot within 20 minutes. Well, it was scoffed. Absolutely delicious. It was my partners first time having veggie haggis and tattie scones, and she is now addicted. The best veggie breakfast in Edinburgh in our opinion. We liked it that much we stopped off before our flight home. We will be back again the next time we visit Edinburgh. Amazing staff & fantastic food 👌 👏

We had a very nice breakfast on a busy Saturday morning. The food was great and reasonably priced, I loved the French pressed java coffee!! However, we didn't get a good service: we ordered 2 breakasts and 2 coffees and one of the coffees came when we had already finished our food. We also wanted to order something else but our server didn't come to check on us even 15min later, so we went straight to pay. I understand this happens when it's busy and maybe there isn't enough staff due to covid restrictions, so they do deserve 4 nice stars. I have to admit I was impressed by the cleanliness of th bathroom! Very nice and clean.

We waited too long before getting served. Got served the wrong beer. The fish and chips was a joke. The menu says it comes with peas but ours only came with a malnourished fish and what seems like frozen chips. Look at the photo. It looks like a fish from a Bird's Eye frozen box. No vinegar nor salt. We were also asked to pay right after taking our order. Who asks customers to pay before getting heir orders while dining in? Anyway, if you visit the place, avoid this cafe like a plague.

We were passing through Edinburgh for a day, and planned to have a late breakfast at Rose St Cafe, as the menu looked great and the reviews were good. Overall we were a bit disappointed. The service and general vibe of the cafe were the high points. In the centre of Edinburgh £15 for the big breakfast seemed about what you'd expect, but for £15 I expected good quality ingredients. However, the quality wasn't there. The sausages appeared to be inexpensive mass produced low pork % types, the eggs were just ok. The bacon was tasty enough , but came in chunks rather than coherent rashers. The haggis and black pudding were on the salty side. The toast was bog standard white loaf. It wasn't awful, it was just ok.

The other thing is that in a Full Scottish/English/Irish breakfast I expect a mug of tea or coffee to be included. What do the ingredients cost.. 10p? 20p? To charge £15 for the breakfast and then another £3 or so for tea (£6 for a pot for two) is a bit grasping. Maybe it's normal in the centre of Edinburgh, but it definitely isn't in the centre of London.

Overall, it was just ok. If I had been served this in a local cafe for £7.50 (with tea included) I'd have been fine with it. But it wasn't, including tea it was £18, and for that, it really just needs...

i’ve only been in scotland for a few days, but every day i have stopped here! they have kind workers who make sure you are taken care of, and there are plenty of options. all day breakfast. french fries (or crisps lol). dessert. you can even order an alcoholic beverage or coffee/tea. there’s something for everyone without breaking the bank. before i leave tomorrow, i will stop for breakfast! the atmosphere is quieter, but not in a way that you have to be quiet. it felt private enough for me to call my relatives and friends and chat about my trip :) it’s also nice for people watching since there is both indoor and outdoor seating. overall, a great...
