If you're seeking an authentic Sri Lankan culinary experience, look no further than Sri Lankan Street Food & Cafe. This hidden gem in Coventry offers a remarkable journey through the rich and diverse flavors of Sri Lanka.

Food: 5/5 The menu is a tantalizing array of Sri Lankan staples that are hard to find anywhere else in Coventry. Highlights include the Kottu, a flavorful stir-fry of chopped roti, vegetables, and your choice of meat, bursting with spices and textures that dance on your palate. The fried rice and biryani are equally exceptional, each dish perfectly cooked and seasoned, delivering robust flavors that transport you straight to the streets of Colombo.

A standout feature is the selection of hoppers. The egg hoppers, with their crispy edges and soft centers cradling a perfectly cooked egg, are a must-try. The milk hoppers, slightly sweet with a hint of coconut, provide a unique and delightful contrast to the savory dishes.

Service: 5/5 The service at Sri Lankan Street Food & Cafe is impeccable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to offer recommendations if you're new to Sri Lankan cuisine. Their passion for their food and culture shines through, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Overall Experience: 5/5 Sri Lankan Street Food & Cafe is a culinary treasure in Coventry. Whether you're a fan of Sri Lankan cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant promises an unforgettable dining experience. The combination of authentic flavors, outstanding service, and a charming atmosphere makes it a top choice for food lovers. Don't miss the chance to indulge in their unique and...

Their focus on Sri Lankan cuisine is what truly sets them apart. Every dish bursts with authentic spices and fresh ingredients, perfectly capturing the essence of Sri Lankan cooking. Whether you're a seasoned Sri Lankan food enthusiast or a curious newcomer, their menu has something to tantalize your taste buds.

Here's what makes Sri Lankan Street Food and Cafe a must-try:

Unbeatable Sri Lankan Flavor: Their dedication to authenticity is evident in every bite. You won't find better Sri Lankan food in Coventry! Variety for All: From fragrant curries and sizzling Kottu to delicate Dosas and fluffy Roti, they cater to all preferences, including vegetarian and vegan options. A Welcoming Atmosphere: Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeaway, the friendly staff creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. My personal recommendation? Try their signature Kottu - a vibrant mix of shredded flatbread, vegetables, and your choice of protein, bursting with flavor. Don't forget to pair it with their selection of authentic Sri Lankan curries for a truly unforgettable experience.

Ordered this via UberEats based on a recommendation who ā€˜ate in’. The price of the delivery was extortionate in comparison to the eat-in price. I was told that 2 people were over-fed in the restaurant for Ā£20, yet from UberEats, 2 mains and a side with delivery and Using UberOne was over Ā£30. When the food came, everything was cold: STONE COLD. I’m not being pedantic, it wasn’t even remotely warm, and for any restaurant less than 2 miles away, it’s not really acceptable at all. So 2 mins in the microwave per person it was! The taste and quality of the food was incredible. Spice. Flavour. Texture. New things. But if I’m honest, when you’re hungry, Ā£20 worth of big standard food from any 3 star Chinese or Indian, delivered hot, and to feed 2 or more would be far more substantial than this. My advice, don’t order it for delivery. They aren’t prepared enough to meet the demand and the mark-up they must be making is honestly borderline robbery. But, if you’re in the city centre, you can visit; try something new; and get an abundance of flavour on a budget. A shame really because Sri Lankan food isn’t popular in the city and from what I tasted, it could be. I wouldn’t order again for delivery, but I’d definitely visit the restaurant for a...

Probably the best Sri Lankan food in the West Midlands. I’ll start with the bad first because there’s nothing bad here except for the limited seating capacity (being a food truck, it’s pretty understandable). Apart from that everything else is great. The food is the closest thing you can find for an authentic Sri Lankan home cooked meal. They use authentic Sri Lankan whole spices that make their curries punchy and aromatic. You cannot go wrong with their rice and curry combo. They find fresh daily produce from the markets, that are hard to come by like jackfruit, baby jackfruit and super food moringa and centella (gotu kola). During our time in Coventry, we covered pretty much everything in their menu, like kottu, coconut roti, pork curry, and our favourite, Saturday special lunch ā€œSri lankan biriyaniā€. They never fail to impress us with their food. The taste, the portion sizes and the price - everything is just right. You won’t find a better affordable yet quality meal in Coventry anywhere else.
