Ordered Dhaka Special Biryani and Dhaka Sepcial Curry on dinner yesterday.I was really disappointed with the taste to be honest. The item they are selling as Biryani dish is a joke and it's really a shame that most of the Indian style restaurant running the same scam everywhere in the UK.What they sell as Biryani is a nothing but a mix of pilau rice (that is also average quality!) with cooked meats which is not a proper Biryani dish by any wild stretch of imaginations!!!When asked ,the management said the items are prepared keeping local English crowds liking/preferences in mind which is again a lame excuse in my opinion. Curry also tastes below average and too oily. All the Curry dishes they prepare with same tomato based thick gravy which is again a big let down. Pocket pinch was 19.9£ and additional 2.5£ for delivery. Can't say it's cheap. Not going to Order Biryani for sure again from any West Midlands Indian Restaurants.Infact I am going to stick to the Chinese restaurants for a take away delivery going forward as at least I can expect some authenticity from them.If you are born and raised in the UK and never tasted Biryani in Sub continent would would be okay with the taste but if you already tasted the Biryani in Sub continent and know how it tastes ,you must skip this restaurant.

Back in 2024 for the new owners. Had the Daka special. Meal really good. Say hi tn Ziggy! Been here with daughter. I've been eating here since opening i think. In the days of drinking and living in the area. A family run restaurant, great service every time, staff really friendly and polite. So today we called in, food was amazing. Indian chicken dish and lamb. Prices have just gone up but great value as always. All the best to the staff. Cheers.

Under the previous management we always enjoyed visiting the Dhaka (my parents had been coming since it opened in the 80s). It was always faultless and never a bad experience.

We visited on Sunday to celebrate as a family. Under the new management the changes were obvious immediately. The service and the quality of what we received could be described as mediocre at best. Since visiting four members of our table have had severe food poisoning and have been unable to keep down even water. This restaurant needs a biohazard warning and we wont risk...

There is an immutable law of Indian restaurants: if you have to go up or down a flight of stairs, you are onto a winner. This is absolutely true here. No fancy kerb appeal to pull in the unwary customer; this place clearly relies on reputation and people who want to seek out a good meal. Reasonable drinks pricing and friendly service as well. Tandoori mixed grill is beautiful, and the curry and rice portions are just right: enough to feel like a feast, but not so much to feel gluttonous. Plain naan is delightfully sweet, and large enough for...
