Read moreWe've always enjoyed the carvery over the years. My work also have their Christmas meal every year. However, a few weeks ago we challenged the amount of meat given to us Especially, as we had paid specifically for extra meat. We challenged the amount because it was less than the palm of my hand. I sacrificed a 'portion' from one of the joints of meat so I could enjoy more of my favourite. We felt ripped off. A supervisor came over and spoke over us and told us we were wrong to feel this way. We also mentioned that the prices on the website vary significantly. This was ignored. More to the point, our comment was probably not heard because she was instantly on the defensive. We enjoyed our meal but were disappointed given that we'd paid for extra. On top of the shock that the prices were not correct at the time of booking online. RESPONSE ANSWERED: Dear Sinead,
Thanks for your response. Once again our complaint has not been addressed.
In summary: The member of staff came over just as we'd sat down and asked us how our meal was. We hadn't had a bite! We told her about the meat portions. Within seconds, you presented yourself. My husband was disappointed with the difference between the prices on the website to when we arrived at your establishment and the meat portions were minimal considering we paid for extra. My husband used the words ripped off. I agreed. We had both individually spoken to the chef regarding the portions size. A slither is cut not a slice. It was not enough to fill a sandwich.
Regardless of the chef having been with you a long time he is clearly governed by how much he is allowed to provide each person. Our argument is that we paid for extra and this is not what we received.
The tip is Automatically added when someone pays via the app. You don't know that this can be removed until the next page. This you explained.
My husband paid at the bar because the app was slow.
We refused the removal of our dinners given the time of day and the meal service of other establishments. We were left with little option also; this was our only meal of the day.
We have no complaints about the rest...
Read moreWe were a party of 5 adults, booked in for 6pm. 3 of the group arrived at 5.50 pm - as is reasonable for a 6pm booking. They were told they were too early for the table that we had reserved some weeks before. Rather than wait five minutes by the time the others arrived 2 minutes before 6, we’d been put on a table for four - hastily extended by adding an extra chair which put one of our party practically in the queue for the carvery. When For last night, that’s what I’m doing a larger table became free, we asked if we could move only to be told the table had been booked. I wasted no time, pointing out that had booked a table for five, two weeks before the event, there had been plenty of warning of what was needed . But that hadn’t been honoured! We were allowed to move. I asked what the situation was with service and was told that we would either be served or could order from the app. Asthere was absolutely no evidence of staff taking orders we ordered from the app. Once we had ordered, our food and drinks were delivered promptly. No comments on the drinks - they were stock pub drinks. The food - well, it was late on Easter Sunday, but even so the food was really pretty poor. We opted for the carvery,. The vegetables were tired and tepid. The roast potatoes had been incredibly well cooked (!), And although we left with fed bellies, our tastebuds hadn’t been troubled. I’m told the double breast, chicken, stacker burger brought on a sadly distressed belly overnight, Despite the chicken being dry and seeming overcooked. We don’t live in Coventry, so had this venue recommended to us but, to be honest, I can’t understand why! It’s not somewhere I...
