Deeply Disappointed – Poor Service and Low-Quality Food

I visited Chopsticks Merry Hill on 26th November 2025 at around 2:30pm, and sadly, my experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

The service was unwelcoming and inattentive. Staff appeared disinterested, there was little to no communication, and the overall atmosphere felt rushed and careless. For a busy shopping centre location, I expected a much higher standard of customer service, friendly, efficient, and at least somewhat engaging, but this was far from it.

The food was even worse. Everything I tried was tasteless, mushy, and lacking any real freshness or texture. The noodles were overcooked, the sauces were watery and bland, and the overall quality was well below expectations. It was clear there was no care or consistency in how the food was prepared or served.

Considering the prices, I felt the value for money was extremely poor. I left feeling disappointed and frustrated, especially as I’ve had much better experiences at other Chopsticks branches. This location really lets the brand down.

I genuinely hope the management reviews this feedback seriously, there’s a real opportunity to improve both customer service and food standards. A little more attention to quality, presentation, and staff training could make a huge difference. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend this branch and unfortunately won’t...

I collected a too good to go bag where I was served by a younger girl (she was lovely can’t fault her) and swiped to collect, they asked if I could leave a google review which I said yeah Ofcourse there is no problem. I then get sent to another lady (believe it was Eva judging from the other seeming forced reviews on here) to collect my food where she wanted my phone so she could help me put a google review on I said I don’t need help I can do it when I get home. I haven’t ate the food yet so how could I leave a review on it. She then proceed to take some food out of my bag and she said she wasn’t giving it me because I wouldn’t leave a review. She’s already put these in the bag before saying anything about whether I was going to complete a review where she was refusing to put them back in. She also then complained that I she didn’t see my swipe when I’d already done this with the previous girl. I’ve never had such nasty and horrible staff before. I also thing it is completely wrong that you are asking people to give reviews...

They have gone down on quality and spicy food. Thai green chilli curry was amazing it tasted great with noodles and rice, the most loved version of Thai food gone from the menu. Everything is sweet and more sweet. It's sickening. Their egg fried rice is not nice and tastes like plastic rice. Not a single spicy curry but spicy chicken which is not spicy at all. Almost tastes the same as all other chicken there. Avoid. If you're a spicy lover. The ultimate Thai green spicy curry is gone. Nothing tastes good there.

I took their recomendation on a another curry didn't like it. Went back to change it and was asked to pay for a change of their recomendation. Everybite of the rice in your mouth is like chewing on plastic. Avoid their rice completely.

I had the worst experience and I had spent 30.00 pounds....
