We were in Brighton for a week, but we came to eat here on two separate occasions. My girlfriend and I loved it both times, the burgers are very good (albeit for me, 6oz patties are never enough!) and the vegan options are plentiful and oh so tasty.
I had the Robert Johnson and Ronald’s Revenge, and my girlfriend had the Vegan Tenders (burger version and stand alone version) on our first and second visits respectively. Our first visit was exceptional, delicious food, friendly service and just all around a good time. Service was friendly, funny and fast. We had no expectations, but we were left with a really good impression. This was a Friday evening.
On our second visit on a Wednesday, food was great, but my girlfriend ordered the Vegan Tenders with the buffalo sauce. We were however not really satisfied with the taste; the both of us weren’t expecting the tender’s to be fried with the sauce, as it made them soggy instead of sinfully crispy. When we told Juan about this, he got them replaced with another set of crispy vegan tenders, and they were phenomenal. On that note, understandably service was a tad slow having only Juan and what we assumed was a kind new guy running the show. We got there at around 18H (I believe), and we noticed the kitchen had, what I assumed, miles and miles of take away orders, so kitchen was overwhelmed, and our food was coming out a bit later than sooner. Understandably so. We were a bit more disappointed on our second evening, but Juan more than made up for it for his amazing service and attention to everything going on. He single handedly saved the evening for us on our second trip, and I would definitely come back for a third visit when we’re back in Brighton...
Read moreWent to 7Bone in Hove for the first time today. First impressions: it's not a huge restaurant, it has a more cosy feel to the place. I liked how you could see the chefs working away in the kitchen and on the way to the bathrooms you could see all the stock which I enjoyed for some reason.
The food was nice and tasty, the deal I had was good and about what you'd expect to pay in a place that's not McDonald's or Burger king. I went for the blue plate deal I think it was called. I chose the Ronald's Revenge burger and seasoned tots. Both were delicious! I got a choice of how I wanted the burger which was nice. They food was easy to eat, the bun was soft, the glaze on top was lovely. The seasoned tots were crispy and fluffy on the inside too. For drinks I got one of the shakes, I got the Maltoreo shake. It was one of the best tasting shakes I've ever had! It was malty and chocolaty! The food was similar to what you get in Meat Liquor in Brighton, both as tasty as each other. With the price of drinks and any extras added to the meals, the total for four of us came to just over £100 including a tip. So about £25 per head roughly.
The staff in 7Bone were super friendly and we're happy to help and answer any questions we had. Have to give extra credit to the staff for putting up with my father in laws crazy shenanigans!
Overall, it was a lovely experience, Was it the best food I've ever eaten... no, but it was pretty good. It is worth trying 7Bone at least once, the food names are great and the staff are amazing and...
Read moreGreat place for some burger fun times!
Medium size place with a nice amount of space between the tables.
Service is quick, friendly and helpful. Happy to explain anything on the menu or give recommendations if you're struggling to decide.
The menu is made up of fun, but well made burgers, various loaded/dirty fries, fried chicken burgers, shakes and cocktails. They also have a nice size children's menu.
We tried the bacon blue cheese burger and the Italian inspired burger with mozzarella, smashed meatballs and marinara. Both were cooked rare as we requested. The blue cheese and bacon burger was amazing and wouldn't be out of place on any fancy gourmet burger place that charges twice as much. The Italian burger was good, but to my taste, could have done with more marinara sauce and the Italian meatballs with the beef patty was a bit like putting a hat on a hat, but, maybe that's the point! We also shared a side of dirty fries that were essentially a big mac if a big mac were fries.
Definitely one of the better places to eat in the area and worth making a trip to if you...
