Great cocktail and wine bar. We booked online for pre dinner drinks and we were not disappointed. Great selection of drinks, great atmosphere. What made this place stand out was the service. The service was impeccable!! Attentive, professional and fabulous staff. One of my drinks was too strong (they are not skinny with the alcohol measures), so they brought me top up mixers .. twice!! And made sure I was happy. They new there were 2 celebrations in our group, so came over with cake and candles which is not only a lovely surprise they even wrote a message in chocolate!! Yeh, the drinks aren’t the cheapest but the atmosphere, service and drinks were worth every penny. This place is definitely in my saved list for my next trip to Brighton with the girls where we will spend the night because they offer food, drink and dancing (have their own DJ), and it is literally around the corner from The Ivy in the Lanes.

I came here as a birthday treat from my boyfriend. I had never attended here before and was a bit nervous if I was underdressed while wearing casual clothes. However to my surprise we were offered such a warm welcome by staff and has a nice choice of seating in a space upstairs at a small intimate table overlooking downstairs. We had a waitress called Emily, who I must say was one of the most attentive, polite, and courteous staff. I was so impressed by her recommendations in the menu and was very pleased with what I chose which was the pan fried cod with parsley sauce. It was cooked to perfection and the sauce was perfectly made and enough portion wise. My partner has the beer battered cod and chips. Which I also stole some of that too haha. Music was after about 9.30pm which I will happily join in another evening as the vibe was very chilled and classy. Another shout out to Emily!!!

Made a great experience for my birthday. We struggled to find somewhere to seat 16 people but no.32 were happy to accommodate us. The manager personally called me to help me plan everything from seating arrangements to pre ordering our food so no one would be waiting when we arrived and so the evening went smoothly. The location is great, tucked in to duke street just off of west street, it’s easy to access. They have a cosy balcony upstairs and plenty of seating space. The theming was nice throughout the restaurant and the toilets were clean and in good shape. Personally, I think the menu could do with an expansion, but the food was well presented, flavourful and the prices were fair. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed visiting and would recommend no.32 to anyone considering it. Thank you :)

I ate here with friends this weekend and I can honestly say, it is possibly the worst place I have eaten in Brighton. Our experience started with a waiter seating us directly next to the door. Being cold outside we asked if we could be seated elsewhere and we were refused as they said other parts of the restaurant (which clearly had available space) were not open yet. After ordering our drinks we waited for around 20 mins before we even received a glass of water, and a further ten minutes before we were brought the drinks we had asked for. Our food order was even worse. I ordered "Sticky Pork" since they had run out of what I actually wanted. When my "sticky pork" eventually arrived it was far from sticky, in fact it was 3 pieces of slow cooked pork in a thin gravy. No glaze, no marinade, and absolutely NO STICKY! The meal arrived in a small cast iron dish which I would have expected to come out hot. The dish however was cold and the contents were lukewarm. I was expecting our waiter to come over and ask if everything was ok, but this did not happen. I looked around to see if I could complain and no service came. Being that my friends had all received their meals I began eating and had a moan about my food with them, and they were also a little annoyed at their food being mediocre (poor burger, undercooked cabbage, wrong sauce etc...). Still no one came, and in the end I just ate the thing because I was hungry, and our group were waiting to see a performance straight after the meal, so asking for another dish would have held us up. When the waiter finally came over (at the end of the meal to collect the dishes), he asked if the food was ok. I explained that my pork was not sticky to which he replied "I'm sorry, I'm Belgian. I do not understand this word sticky." At this point I looked up the Dutch word for sticky on my phone and showed it to him. He then replied "I speak French not Dutch." I the looked up the word in French (gluant) and the waiter then said that "it is impossible to cook sticky pork in the French style". What on earth?!!! Why on earth would you put a dish on the menu that is impossible to cook? Quite frankly I was flabbergasted. The waiter then stated that I should have told him earlier and he would have changed it, even though he paid our table about as much attention as a carrot in a dogs bowl. I think one star is generous. I suppose the chips were acceptable. If you do have to eat here I recommend going for a bowl of chips. Failing that I would say save yourself some money and go over the road to Wetherspoons......... they offer much...

Food was good but service was literally a shambles. Walked in and no one immediately came to seat us, the waitress in fact ducked behind the bar to have a conversation with someone else. We were then seated, and rushed to order ‘before the kitchen go home’ (it was 8.40, our table was booked for 8.30). If someone had mentioned on the phone the kitchen would close so early we might have arrived earlier. So after choosing two sirloins on the bone, we were told these were not available (this should have been said the moment we sat down). Then we opted for two sirloins of the bone, we were told ‘we may or may not have some’. You either have it or you don’t. We were eventually told by a different waiter that there was no sirloin, so we opted for the ribeye instead. Steak wasn’t hot, but was still very tasty. Everything was nice except the creamed mash which was super bland and not creamy at all. So the entire duration of our meal, our Australian waitress was swearing like a sailor and kicking off about prior customers, which completely ruined the atmosphere. When you’re spending close to £100 on a mea it’s unacceptable to have to listen to a server loudly shout and swear. When our food was delivered I asked if the kitchen would be leaving as we wanted some cheese for dessert, and would they be able to do it. They went to check and said yes, I asked what cheeses they have, again back to the kitchen to check. I selected my cheese, And when it was delivered it was missing the grapes. I asked for the grapes, the waitress went off, cake back and told me the kitchen had packed them away at the back of the fridge so we couldn’t have them. No discount was offered on the cheese which I would not have ordered without grapes. We did not eat more than a few bites, during which the effing and blinding continued. Then we decided to leave. It’s a shame as it’s a beautiful restaurant, and the food was good. I myself come from a hospitality background and just found the behaviour and lack of knowledge from the servers ridiculous. Also the lack of communication with the kitchen was obvious, and it seemed as if no one wanted to be there. To the manager: sort your staff out cause they’re making an embarrassment of...

Took my wife to Brighton for the bank holiday weekend and booked a meal online here for the Sunday night. While my wife was having a massage at Little Jasmines i went round to No. 32 to have a look and to make sure i got a nice table for the evening and to see if they would dress the table up a little. I was introduced to Ali who said i would need to get a few balloons myself but he would make sure my wife was made a fuss of. I was told no garish colours for the balloons please and knew then that Ali was a man of standards....i returned with my balloons and Ali took them from me and gave them to a member of staff. You all should be very proud of this business !!! My wife and i returned at 7.45pm for our 8.00pm table and was shown to the bar for a drink. At 8pm we was then shown to our table, my wife was over the moon....a small , slightly separate room in the front window with candles and the balloons was set up ...it looked great. The meal was beautiful and the level of service was superb. A cake was bought out at the end of the meal with a candle ...nice touch...With the bill Ali bought in some shots and a glass of bubbly and made a toast...After our meal we was shown to a reserved table in the main bar where all the centre tables was cleared and the place turned into a night club, great sound and fantastic atmosphere. Absolute first class host and a great place, we really could not fault any aspect of our visit, food, service, value for money...all 5 star. Thank you to Ali and all your staff for making my wife feel a million dollars. Regards,...
