Athena Greek Taverna & Cafe — Restaurant in England

We attended this evening with high hopes, the starters were nice, and we had pre ordered the lamb kleftiko. We ordered the prawns to go alongside the lamb with the remains of the starters. The prawns were not de veined, and although promised to be in garlic were in more of a bland butter sauce. The lamb was dry. I’ve never had slow cooked lamb be that dry. It did not come with a sauce just bland boiled potatoes and some tomatoes. I didn’t eat the lamb and simply asked for the bill, however the chef decided to come out to the table and confront me for not eating the meal? I insisted I would just like the bill however was hounded for a reason as to why I didn’t like the meal. He suggested multiple times that it was because I wasn’t from Greece and had never been. He then used a fork to shred the meat whilst saying ‘ITS NOT DRY YOUVE CLEARLY NEVER HAD THIS DISH BEFORE’. In front of other diners it was plain awkward. They did take it off the bill which is understandable however this is not what I wanted. The atmosphere is dire this type of restaurant simply cannot form an atmosphere in this type of building. After nearly five years of living in Ludlow and walking past on the way into town, we decided to pop in for lunch. We checked the board by the gate for its opening hours and tried to go in. The door was locked. As we were walking away, a woman opened the door, and, with a face like thunder, asked if she could 'help' us. Obviously, as the board by the gate indicated the place was open, we asked if it was open. She replied, 'no, there's a private party'. When I suggested it would have been helpful if they had placed a notice on the door apologising for any inconvenience, the woman's reaction was tantamount to, 'yeah, whatever'. We won't try again and, if this is indicative of how they treat potential customers, I recommend you don't either. Only marked down on service because when I rang to book, the lady didn't ask if I'd seen the menu. The menu clearly states to book certain meals in advance (24hrs) so my friend and I were disappointed that the choice was limited when we arrived. We both chose Spanakopita and were told it takes time as it's cooked fresh/from scratch, we weren't told how long. The lady did keep coming to reassure us it was cooked fresh and said it was "worth the wait". An hour later, it arrived (see pic). The spinach in it could have been recently picked from the back garden it was that fresh! It was delicious, and definitely worth the wait!
