Read moreIf you're after more of a glass of wine and some nibbles then Bacello should serve you well. Service was good. Place was clean (really groovy doors to the loo). But I'm not a fan of bruschetta + "stuff" which is about 50% of the menu. Call them cichetti if you like, but it's basically bite size bread snacks. It's trying to pull off a kind of tapas thing but it's not for me I'm afraid. We ordered the hot plates to share. These take a little longer to come but we were warned of that, so no bother. And the food itself tasted fine and was presented very nicely. But I just felt it was all a bit style over substance. As a small example, the affettato plate was beautifully presented and came with a pretty tiny basket/bag of assorted slices of bread. But there wasn't a whole lot there. Not sure of the price but it wasn't a bargain. Despite there not being the most abundant amount of food on the plate, I still felt the need to order a second helping of the tiny basket/bag. In Italy, if I've ever had to order more bread to the table it came for free. So overall pleasant, atmosphere, nice n clean, tasty food but...
Read moreOur first visit to Christchurch for an evening concert at the Priory! Hoping for a quick pasta supper beforehand we were just so lucky to land up at Baccello! We were greeted warmly, immediately felt really at home with the caring, personal service at the table and offered a gorgeous array of dishes and wines. Ram was so passionate and knowledgeable and we were captivated! ! We didn’t have long, so we opted for the 2 for £20 pasta options. Simply amazing value for home cooked food using fresh locally sourced ingredients. We’d never tasted such beautiful, fresh Italian tomato sauce and I loved the Italian serving bowls. We were both blown away with the whole experience and are still talking about it! Longing to come back soon when we’ve got...
