1/4/17 I'm changing my review. This has been my favourite restaurant since it opened. Have had Wagyu ribeye 5 or 6 times there now and loved everyone. Last night although i felt silly, i actually asked the waitress to check with the chef he had actually given new wagyu as it really didnt have the quality i've always tasted before. The waitress just came back with a "yes it is", no question as to why i asked. We just wasnt impressed last night, it was a shame, it seems no one is keeping the standards as high as they once were. -No one offered to take coats -Very long wait for 1st drink -Potatoes on my partners meal were sprouting -Bill had £17 of drinks we didnt order on it, with no apology when we asked for it to be corrected -Chips charged as an extra on my £70 steak (this has never been the case previously) I will be giving Brettingtons another go as I hope this was a bad night and not the way forward. When it was good it was very good, but last night i was very disappointed.

I have always ventured out to London to find a fine dinning restaurant until I found out about this gem in our little Medway town of Rochester! After months of attempting to find the right date, my gf and I booked a reservation. From the welcome at the entrance to the seating, it was refreshing! Our servers were friendly, attentive, accommodating and prompt. The way they communicated with us, one would think we've known each other for a minute! The servers were also quite knowledgeable on the dishes and the drinks and gave great recommendations! Not one of them was lacking in their service! My friend and I felt very comfortable throughout. The portion sizes were perfect, the dishes were delightfully palatable, euphoric even! It was a perfect night out! I cannot wait to take more of my friends back to experience this gem! Update: I have revisited this place twice since my first review and it's still the same and I still love it!

If anyone wants to learn customer service skills go here! It was text book here On arrival the lady checked us in an told about the COVID rules and which we as a happy anniversary (nice) we were shown to our seats and then introduced the guy that would be serving us that evening and he then wished us a happy anniversary (nice touch again) and had a glass of bubbly given which was really nice 👍🏼 The food arrived in a good time (not to fast and not to slow) and it was amazing I had steak and half lobster 🦞 and my wife had a whole lobster 🦞 we couldn’t have been happier. We also asked for some cocktails that were not on the menu but the staff were happy to make them!! They were also great All in all a really great evening with some very nice staff, and will definitely do make! Keep up the hard work everyone

The staff are superb at Brettington's; they are probably the most *genuinely* friendly bunch of people we've ever met, especially the brown haired girl and red haired guy. We all had steaks, which come with chips and salad as standard. The ribeyes (12oz for £35) were very nice - juicy and tender, and were cooked to the requested medium-rare (but maybe a touch too much towards medium). The 48oz cote de boeuf at £70 was good, but was a tad dry. Chips were very crisp and crunchy. Didn't eat the salad. Sweet potato chips were a little too spicy for me. Desserts looked photogenic and tasted fab; icecream was really good! A rare beefy gem outside of the City, with a huge variety on the menu. 7/10 would visit again.

3 of us went. 2 Fillet 1 sirloin and 1/2 baked lobster. Stakes all came out aboutvthe same time. However my lobster didn't. Probably about 5 mins later... Was very tasty but would have been easier to eat with lobster fork rather that having to use my steak knife to get the meat out. Food was lovely apart from my steak having cooled whilst waiting for the lobster..... When paying we all paid 60 each for a 167 bill. They didn't even attempt to bring change back or ask of the rest was a tip. Which it was, but would have been nice to be asked. The lighting on our table meant I had to ask my friend to lean back so I could use the light on the window cill to see my food.... Lovely food. Just not a great experience.
