We booked The Venue at Brick and Beam for our wedding reception to celebrate with friends and family, following our small, intimate ceremony in Cornwall — and it was absolutely perfect.

After weeks of searching for a venue that felt stylish and special (and not just another village hall), I was starting to lose hope... until I stumbled across Brick and Beam! From the moment we got in touch, Din was fantastic — incredibly responsive, helpful, and accommodating with every question and request.

We initially viewed both The Loft (including the Garden Room and Rooftop Terrace) and The Venue. While The Loft was beautiful with its sloped ceilings and beams, we ultimately chose The Venue for its open layout — perfect for hosting a live band and creating a proper dancefloor vibe.

One of the best things about The Venue is how stunning it looks as-is. With its fairy light wall, trailing vines, and disco ball, it required very little extra decorating — one less thing to stress about! That said, Din provided all the info we needed to coordinate with additional vendors if we wanted to add more.

He also went the extra mile in helping us personalise the bar menu with our favourite cocktails, and even sourced special food items that weren’t originally on the catering menu — which ended up being a huge hit with our guests!

On the night, everything ran smoothly thanks to Din’s coordination — he even welcomed our vendors when we were running late, and made sure everything was set up perfectly. After the event, we were able to leave behind a few decorations and collect them later, allowing us to just enjoy the evening without worrying about packing up.

When one of our guests fell ill, the security staff were absolutely brilliant — checking in, offering help, and bringing water. We felt really looked after from start to finish.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting our 40th birthday celebration at Brick & Beam, and I must say, it was an absolute blast! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional, leaving us with memories that will last a lifetime.

We had booked this venue for our engagement celebration however we were unable to go forward as we had a family passing less than 2 weeks before the event.

Most of our vendors were understanding and were able to reschedule or reach a compromise for our events on the day. However Brick and Beam did not as they said non-refundable due to cancellations.

There was zero empathy for a bereavement nor any compromise for moving the event to a different date or partial refund. They said if someone rebooks within the date they will refund as a gesture of goodwill however we all knew it was very unlikely for the venue to be booked on that date for less than 2 weeks. A gesture of goodwill would have allowed us to carry over the deposit or partial deposit to the new date.

We shouldn’t have had to stress about this during a time of bereavement and we sincerely hope they learn some empathy rather than looking at the business aspects so other people do not need to go through this and establishing a good rapport within...
