Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the Beef Chow Mein. It’s safe to say that this dish alone has earned "Chinese Snack Box" its reputation as a go-to destination for lovers of Chinese stir-fried noodles. The beef is tender, thinly sliced, and packed with flavor, complementing the crispness of the fresh vegetables and the perfectly cooked noodles. The balance of textures is what makes this dish stand out: the savory, slightly smoky taste from the stir-fry process pairs seamlessly with the slight crunch of bean sprouts, bell peppers, and cabbage.
What truly elevates this Beef Chow Mein is the sauce. The dish is coated in a rich, yet light sauce that enhances the flavor without overpowering it. It's a harmonious blend of soy, garlic, and other classic Chinese seasonings that bring out the natural umami of the beef, while the noodles absorb just the right amount of sauce to provide a satisfying, savory bite with every mouthful. The result is a comforting, yet exciting dish that will have you coming back for more.
Whether you're a long-time fan of Chinese cuisine or someone simply looking to try something new, "Chinese Snack Box" delivers an experience worth remembering. Read moreThe most disappointing restaurant ever. If you’re considering eating here because the prices look reasonable, don’t be surprised when that’s reflected on the quality of the food, I got a roast duck noodle soup which was so bland and the broth looked like dirty mop water. Even water has more flavour than the broth in this dish, obviously it was loaded with coriander aswell which made it even worse. The service was great until I asked the waitress to change my meal for something else as I barely ate any and eating more would’ve felt like torture, but her face lit up again when I just said I’d pay, they are cheapskates. so I ended up paying for a chow mein which wasn’t anything spectacular, could probs get better chow mein from Tesco’s ready meals. Maybe I just got unlucky this time but honestly u couldn’t pay me to come back. I ordered green tea and they must’ve confused my order with sewage water bc that’s what it resembled both in appearance and taste, don’t know what it was but defo...
Read moreGreat place to get authentic Chinese food. If you go here make sure you look at the specials, or try something you'd not find on a takeaway menu, you won't be disappointed. Food comes quick, and you might receive it at different times, but I don't see a problem with that.
We went for the double cooked pork with rice, and the brisket spicy noodle soup with hand cut noodles.
The twice cooked pork was great and had a nice spice of fresh green chilli running through.
The spicy soup was nose clearingly spicy with a deep savoury flavour. If you can't take realy spice then this isn't for your. If you come here for any noodle soup, the hand cut noodles are definitely worth the extra wait.
Unfortunately they didn't have any steams buns (bao) again, which is a shame. But the pork and chive dumplings (pan fried) were a great...
