I visited Coffee#1 due to it's spacious cafe floor, which is something I didn't think I would ever say. It's hardwood floors, sand-blue painted wall trim and pale walls enticed me to purchase a cup and contemplate the surroundings. Luckily, the air conditioning was on full, so it was a pleasant sit and sip, at least until I had contemplated my cup.

I watched the barista brew my espresso and steam the milk, a single tap of the metal milk jug being better than none. Although I shouldn't have questioned their skill, as the foam was almost perfect for latte art. No art was attempted (or at least I couldn't work out any discernable shapes), but this may be due to the business of the shop.

The tray that I was served on was a little dusty, and seeing the stirring spoon placed on the tray made me reluctant to add a serving of sugar. There was also no saucer either, which would have solved the dirty serving tray issue.

There were enough seats for my party to sit down, and ramps leading up to a higher area, which would be suitable for those less mobile. There is also an app where (at the time) one could sign up and get a free cup of coffee. I am reluctant to download many apps, but I can make an excuse for this.

I tried their seasonal blend which was more "bitter" than the regular blend, but I found this to be fruity as well as bitter, as if it were a Sumatran coffee.

You can regularly hear the clanging of mugs and plates behind the counter, which would explain why one of the mugs we were served in had a hairline crack down the side.

I feel the presentation of the shop lets its coffee down, with hygiene and precision replaced with fast service and hastiness. You could circumvent all these issues by having a cut to takeaway, but that's not...

Great little coffee shop, staff are very pleasant. There is a good loyalty card/app scheme.

Fabulous choice of beverages and even has its own *secret" menu. Good selection of items to choose from.

Nice to see that calories are available next to the items, making it easy to check if you are on a specific diet. Meaning informed choices than trying to second guess, which meant my friend was able to enjoy their sweet treat even more as they were able to factor it into their daily requirements.

The triple chocolate brownie is exceptionally tasty if i say so myself and a fiem favourite for me.

Only downside because Coffee#1 is so good, you find yourself having to clear a table to sit at.

Which is why I've marked it as a 4 star for atmosphere. The tables need clearing and wiping down more frequently as it is sometimes a struggle to get a clean table to sit at.

Small, but a pleasant outside area to sit and watch the...

Very tasty coffee, nice to sit out in winter sunshine. They have 'made gluten free' items, but no guarantee of non contamination. This is too risky for a coeliac friend. A shame. There should have wrapped gluten free. NOT good enough. UPDATE 16/5/22. Ordered americano with cold milk. Noticed milk jug chipped, poured from it, then saw the jug was filthy dirty, to begin with thought it was a shadow. Then scraped through the grime with my finger nail! Brought it.to attention of waiter who was clearing tables outside (didnt even wipe tables). Enquired and told manager not in, so asked senior person to be told immediately. Turned out to be person that served me! They failed to come and talk to me. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Hardly #1...

Perfect place to start the day with coffee, a warm snack and a good book. Great coffee, plenty of other hot and cold beverages and a wide choice of savoury and sweet fare mean there is something for everyone. Despite there being only one person serving and several customers when I made my early morning visit, the service was polite and efficient. Plenty of tables with an eclectic mix of chairs. Walls have an array of interesting quotes on them, along with artwork from book covers.
