Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Worst Costa Coffee shop that I’ve been to. Only 1 member of staff on, who was extremely slow and appeared uninterested. Area behind the counter looked like a tornado had hit it. Had to clear a table myself, of the last customers used cups and debris. Other tables were also left uncleared. Was asked by the staff member serving, if I wanted chocolate powder sprinkled on my Cappuccino (never been asked that before, cappuccinos always come with chocolate powder sprinkled on them). Then when I said “yes” to this, he proceeded to put enough chocolate onto my Cappuccino in one hit, to make a whole Flake, which was followed by his response of “Oops “. Never will I enter that shop again and possibly not even a Costa Coffee shop either, if this is how their staff are allowed to be, or if this is the condition that their allowed to leave shop in for...

Several times the app has not allowed me to make payment so instead I have tried phoning the order through. Depending on who answers depends on whether they will allow the order to be placed (it's usually for 6-10 drinks so giving them time to make them you would think would be helpful) although the orders are not always correct - not ideal when you have people with allergies. This morning I was told if the app would not take the order we would have to go and place it at the store. That's fine but holds up other customers too. A couple of times I have placed the order on the app just to have the store cancel the order! If the store does not want custom or to make money, we will certainly take our business elsewhere. Mediocre at best. Costa is my go to place for a flat white with some depth of flavour. Sadly, this fell far short of the mark when I was presented with a tepid milky coffee with no taste. I asked for another shot of coffee (for which I was charged another 50p) but resulted in very little improvement in the coffee flavour. I don't know what coffee they are using, or if they are just using smaller measures, but not usual costa standards. Even my husband, who likes his coffee, mentioned the weakness of his americano.
