Dominic Pizza — Restaurant in England

Please be careful with this restaurant, especially when ordering online or through apps. I ordered from them on Uber Eats about 40 minutes before closing time. I called the restaurant to confirm, and they said no problem they’d prepare the order and send it out.

After a while, I called again to check, and they said, “The driver is downstairs, go meet him he’s right there.” I ran down immediately, still in my pyjamas so I wouldn’t delay him but there was no one there. I called back several times. No answer. Then they marked the order as “delivered” on Uber Eats but nothing was ever delivered.

The next morning, we reached out politely, just to let them know the order didn’t arrive. Maybe it was a mistake. But instead of taking responsibility, the response was aggressive yelling, accusations, and complete denial.

The restaurant is just down the road, so I went over in person. I was told they’d bring the driver to “confront” the situation. When the driver arrived, they started speaking Turkish, not realizing we understand the language. We heard everything. The driver admitted he never delivered the order and wasn’t even working at that time. Then right in front of us they plotted a lie: claiming he gave it to someone else and saying we should just request a refund from Uber.

Worst part? It was the manager himself who planned that lie. Honestly, I expected to be speaking to a mature adult. Instead, I was face to face with a scammer an older man pulling...

Have ordered from here for around 2 years and can only presume that new staff have taken over as last night was criminal behaviour and an absolute disgrace. We ordered and requested a link be sent to pay. Our food due within 45 minutes. When no food or link had arrived after an hour we rang again and were told they were trying to get a driver and when they could they would make the food. Asked again for them to send the link and confirmed the price from the menu on the website.

Another 5 minutes passed and still no link so rang to cancel and they said the driver was 1 minute away. Said we still had not got a link and they said it was on the house to make up for the wait.

10 minutes later our food finally arrived (75 mins after ordering). The driver then requested payment. When we said we had been told it was on the house he said we were crazy. We said we would pay just to end the debacle and he then demanded around £5 more than our food had cost and then said all the website prices are out of date and it was not his fault, he was only a delivery driver.

Having been lied to and overcharged for our late food, we will not be ordering again. What a shame this once good takeaway has thrown its reputation down the drain to scam...

I didn’t really expect too much from my order, as I placed it way after midnight; From experience, food places that stay open this late, usually serve any old stodgy grub to anyone drunk enough to eat it. However, I was desperately hungry after a long shift at work myself, so I took my chances.

I have to say, I cannot fault the food that was delivered, at all. It was hot, fresh and really tasty. It arrived in good time, and the portions were very generous. The meat was absolutely delicious, and I especially loved the presentation and packaging. I ordered a kebab, and everything that came with it was served up separately. The salad was crisp and chilled, whilst the pitta was warm and toasty (highly impressed by this) Sauce pots were full, and again, tasted very fresh. The delivery driver was really polite and didn’t knock too loud on my door (remembering it’s the early hours) And so, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner, and I most certainly will be ordering again, and recommending all of my friends.
