Chef Lu’s 一品香 — Restaurant in Great Britain

My son went with some friends and he raved about the lamb and spring onions... We went at 6pm on a Tuesday...I had rung in, and it was crazy busy when we got there, there was about 8 tables and 2 outside?? All were full. Service as expected for how busy it was. Which was fine. There was a wait for the food, but it was so worth it... If you want refined dining, don't bother... as it's a small cosy dining room, one unisex toilet, around the back, all the restaurant sounds, from the chatter to the woks getting tossed about. All the food I ordered was hot, as soon as it was cooked the dishes came out, one by one. By the time we left there was ppl queuing outside. One group had sent a scout ahead, to reserve a table...🤣 The food is amazing, the flavours are all well balanced. Definitely off again..if anyone can tell me what hotpots I should order...as I saw these on...

Surprise gem!

Don't judge a book by it's cover. On the outside this looks like a bog standard takeaway but this little unassuming place serves some of the best Chinese food in York.

You know the kind of fish & chip restaurant that has naff decor from the 70's but is always packed with pensioners because they serve a damn good fish & chips? This place is kinda the Chinese equivalent, it's stuffed with Chinese students, the decor/service is nothing to write home about and the concept of allergies & veterinarians/vegan is probably a little alien to them... but they serve damn good...

Yeah, awful. Ordered takeaway, specifically saying what we didn't want. Got home and it was full of the stuff we didn't want. Rang them and they pretended not to understand. Eventually they engaged in conversation and refused to believe us. I sent them a photo of the food. They refused to accept it. Then they just stopped speaking and left the phone off the hook.
