I've sampled a few things from the menu now and I have to say I'm very impressed with everything I've had so far.
The pastries are absolutely banging. I think the one I had before was a blueberry and pistachio one? The sausage rolls are all lovely - I've had the chilli and fennel, pork and cheddar and another one I can't remember off the top of my head. I even once have walked in shortly before closing and been given an extra one on the house! Lovely little unexpected surprise and very telling of their service too - in a very good way! 🤗 My favourite item by far is the cinnamon roll - the taste and texture are out of this world. I'm neurodivergent and would argue this has certainly become a "safe food" of mine - they're that good! But you do have to be quick off the mark - they're extremely popular for a reason!!
I'm yet to try the croissant, pain au chocolat or sandwiches - but maybe on another visit?
Highly recommend this place. I really want to sit down and try a coffee at some point when I can find the time ☺ seems like a lovely place to go on a coffee date.
Staff are also attentive and friendly, which adds to the atmosphere of this place.
Parking is fine - there's a short stay (up to 3h) and a long stay nearby. Pro tip though - Wellington Street and the pier have free parking for up to 3 hours, but you have to get lucky in getting a spot!
Edit to add (19/10): I’m also very much behind the inclusive ethos of this business, having seen on their socials that they strive to be inclusive and are one of the (many!) businesses down Humber Street who has the #HullTransAllies sticker up - as someone who has friends and loved ones in the Trans+ community, I will always support and recommend any business that strives to be inclusive towards our trans...
Read moreThis place was to die for, me and my partner would visit this place regularly at least 2-3 times a week and when we first found it was more than you could ever want from a cafe, good music, atmosphere or very nice people and obviously delicious food. However since the menu has been a little bit expanded we have noticed massive change in taste - and its dissapointing know how well them guys can do. Another problem we have noticed is that how the ladies were always nice and the service was just 👌after they got the new bearded guy on the till hes rude and dont understand half of what he’s getting told. E.g i asked if they have any soup and he asked me if I want soap 😂 no sir, Ive came to eat thanks but let me know if its a hint. Order Ice tea and recieved vanilla ice late ( this was quickly repaired by one of the amazing ladies that has been here since beginning)
Flour and Feast was an amazing place, I think there is too much going on right now but am hoping for it to go back to what it was hence...
Read moreMy partner and I visited on the weekend for brunch. We ordered chicken sandwich and tenderstem broccoli bahn mi. I also ordered the pork and fennel sausage roll and two Bueno hot chocolates. Unfortunately both sandwiches were terrible. The mix of sour and bitterness was overwhelming and the slaw completely missed the mark. It completely destroys the concept of bahn mi which is usually light but savoury. My girlfriend said it was the worst she ever tasted and almost threw up. The hot chocolate was very basic, too sweet and rich with no flavour of Bueno as promised. The sausage roll was extremely spicy with the flavour of fennel and spice overpowering any flavour of the sausage or pastry and ruining the dish. On reflection we should have noticed that unlike the pastries such as cinnamon rolls and croissants which were almost sold out the sandwiches were not touched. Overall a terrible experience due...
