The Premier Inn Hull City Centre provides a comfortable stay with excellent security and some standout features, though there are a few small drawbacks. Parking The hotel’s onsite parking is located within the building, offering a secure and spacious option at £7 per night. While the cost might seem a bit high, the security and convenience make it worthwhile. In contrast, the alternative car park they mention across the road is an unsecured dirt field, which doesn’t feel safe or worth the risk. Payment for parking is made at a machine. Some upper floors of the onsite car park were closed during my visit, but there was still enough space available. Fortunately, my company covered the parking fee for my stay. Rooms I stayed in a Premier Inn Plus room (1214) on the 12th floor, and it was definitely worth the upgrade. The room was modern, spacious, and extremely quiet, even though it was close to the lift. The bed was comfortable, and the lighting in the room was more than sufficient. The air conditioning system, which also serves as the heater, kept the temperature perfect throughout my stay. The room featured a coffee machine—a nice touch, though it would be great if they included hot chocolate pods for non-coffee drinkers. The small chocolates and bottles of soda water and still water in the fridge were thoughtful additions. A standout feature of the room was the rainfall shower, which had excellent water pressure and temperature control. There was also a smaller showerhead for added convenience. Having an iron in the room was a big plus. The HDMI port on the wall near the kettle was very handy; I brought my Xbox and connected it easily. The Ultimate WiFi worked well overall, with only one brief disconnection. However, it was slightly inconvenient to have to collect a new WiFi code from reception every day. Also the lift can only be accessed to get to rooms with your room keycard. Hotel Layout and Amenities The reception, bar, and restaurant are all located on the 7th floor, while standard rooms are on floors 8–11, and Premier Inn Plus rooms occupy the 12th floor. The hotel was very quiet throughout my stay, and the restaurant was never particularly busy. Room service was available, and on three out of the four nights I was there, staff kindly brought my food to my room. Food The food was decent but not exceptional, and eating healthily proved challenging as most options were quite indulgent. I had the breakfast, mixed grill, and lasagna during my stay and enjoyed them, though nothing stood out as remarkable. I’ve shared photos of these meals but forgot to photograph other dishes. As my company paid for my meals, I can’t comment on the pricing. Location The hotel is conveniently located with a pedestrian bridge right outside, connecting it to Hull’s town centre. It’s about a 15-minute walk to reach the local Tesco Express, pubs, and restaurants. Summary Premier Inn Hull City Centre offers secure and convenient onsite parking, making it worth the £7 nightly fee. Avoid the unsecured dirt field across the road. The Premier Inn Plus rooms are highly recommended for their comfort, quietness, and thoughtful amenities like a rainfall shower, coffee machine, HDMI port, and excellent air conditioning. The hotel itself is quiet, with friendly service and average food options. While the need to collect a new WiFi code daily is a minor inconvenience, the overall experience makes this a solid choice for business stays.

Good. Nice view of River Hull from the window.....A bottle of water to welcome guests in their rooms won't be a bad idea.

A Disappointing Experience for a 4-Star Hotel We recently spent two nights at Premier Inn Hull, and I have to admit, I’m struggling to understand how this establishment can be rated as a 4-star hotel. Based on the experience, I would place it closer to a 2-star rating if judged by Danish standards, which are often more stringent in their evaluations. While the hotel offers basic amenities and a relatively central location, it falls short in several key areas that contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable stay. First impressions were not great. The rooms, though decently sized, had a distinctly musty odor and the air felt heavy and stale, which made it difficult to relax. Despite the presence of air conditioning, it proved ineffective, with the unit frequently switching on and off, failing to regulate the room temperature adequately. Furthermore, the window allowed a draft, contributing to an uncomfortable atmosphere. The bathroom had its own issues, with a persistent drip from the toilet’s water valve, which, while not catastrophic, was an annoying detail that should have been addressed before our arrival. The Wi-Fi, one of the most crucial amenities for any modern traveller, was terribly slow. A speed test revealed a frustratingly low 0.1 Mbps, rendering the connection virtually useless for anything beyond basic browsing. I opted to pay for the upgraded “premium” Wi-Fi service in hopes of improved performance, but unfortunately, it didn’t deliver the quality needed for work or streaming. This was a significant letdown, particularly as connectivity is a standard expectation for any hotel of this rating. We also decided to dine at the hotel one evening, and the experience was underwhelming, to say the least. The steak was accompanied by a strange and uninspiring brown salad, which did little to enhance the meal. The food felt like an afterthought, lacking both flavor and creativity. The breakfast buffet the following morning offered a classic English breakfast spread, but it was surprisingly bland and lacked the freshness one might expect. The eggs were uninspiring, the sausage lacked taste, and the overall presentation seemed tired. If you’re expecting a satisfying meal to start your day, this breakfast may leave you feeling more disappointed than satisfied. That being said, there were some redeeming qualities to the stay. The service was consistently friendly and accommodating, with staff doing their best to address any concerns. The hotel’s central location is also worth noting, as it offers easy access to Hull’s main attractions, making it a practical choice if all you need is a place to sleep while exploring the city. The prices were reasonable, but I would argue that the value you get doesn’t necessarily justify the 4-star rating. In conclusion, Premier Inn Hull left me feeling conflicted. While it provided the basic necessities – a bed to sleep in and a central location – it fell short in terms of comfort, quality, and overall guest experience. It is certainly not the luxurious or comfortable stay one might expect from a 4-star hotel. For anyone considering a stay, I would recommend tempering expectations and perhaps viewing it as more of a budget-friendly option rather than a premium accommodation.

Premier Inn Hull City Centre: A Functional Yet Uninspiring Stay

My recent stay at Premier Inn Hull City Centre was an experience that fell somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. While the hotel offered some positive aspects, such as a convenient location and a satisfying breakfast spread, its rooms were quite plain and in need of some modernization, especially in the form of USB charging sockets.

Location and Ambience

The hotel's location is a major plus point, being situated right in the heart of Hull's city center. This puts you within easy walking distance of all the major attractions, including the Humber Bridge, Hull Minster, and the Hull Maritime Museum. The city center itself is also quite vibrant, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars to explore.

The hotel's interior is generally clean and well-maintained, but it lacks any real character or charm. The rooms are particularly plain, with a simple, functional design that feels a bit outdated. The décor is rather generic and doesn't do much to set the hotel apart from other more up-to-date Premier Inns.

Accommodation and Amenities

The rooms are spacious enough for a comfortable stay, but they could benefit from some modernizing touches. The beds are firm and comfortable, and the bathrooms are well-equipped with toiletries and towels. However, the lack of USB charging sockets is a major drawback, especially in today's tech-driven world.

The hotel's breakfast buffet is a highlight, offering a wide variety of options to satisfy all appetites. From fresh pastries and cereals to hot cooked dishes and freshly squeezed juices, there's something to please everyone. The staff are also friendly and attentive, providing quick and efficient service.

Overall Impression

Overall, my stay at Premier Inn Hull City Centre was an average experience. The hotel's convenient location and satisfying breakfast buffet are definite plus points. However, the plain and outdated rooms, particularly the lack of USB charging sockets, could be improved. A bit of modernizing would go a long way in enhancing the overall...
