This place has had a lot of money spent on it recently. As a building it's an improvement but unfortunately a lot of the stalls/kiosks are still unoccupied. It's a real shame, I remember when this place used to buzz with stall holders and activity. The food area is now very pleasant though, with a good selection of hot and cold ethnic and British foods for sale at very modest prices. Who can complain at two mugs of tea, a sausage and mushroom sandwich, and a ham salad sandwich for 6 quid. Kay sells the best cuppa in the city, made in a teapot and brewed properly. Far nicer than the ubiquitous tea bag dumped in a cup ofate hot water. That's no way to treat our national drink. Give the place the once over if only for a bite to eat. Update, there were very few vacant stalls on my last visit, and more benches and tables in the food area. Read moreMuch better than years ago. I really liked it. The church is very clean. The market is tidy and clean. No noisy or shouting around. Having said that, many weeks ago I was passing the market and many young men drinking and shouting on street in front of the pop which I do not know its name. It does damage the area where families are going there to enjoy themselves. Another thing I really liked is the house with the old figure on its top front door. They paint it and cleaned it. Not like other houses in the city left them to be forgotten and painted them over and over again on top of old paint which make the building ugly clean rather than keep in in...
