Updated review: Evening sitting. (14/10/21) Going to The Brazilian for an evening service is a very similar experience to the lunch time sitting, and that is the problem. It is £16.95 for the lunch time menu, yes you don’t have as many choices but the difference between the two services does not warrant the uplift to £29.50 for the evening setting. Yes the food and the service were up to the same standards but a £12.55 difference is not value for money. I would still recommend a visit to The Brazilian but only for the much better value lunch time menu. Original Review: Lunch time service After tying the two Brazilian rodizio restaurants in Beverley, if was fantastic to hear that one was opening much nearer to home. The Brazilian Churrascaria, situated in the old 1884 building, is the best of the bunch in area. There is a wider selection in the all-you-can-eat salad bar, offering cold and hot choices, a fantastic choice of reasonably priced cocktails but it is the meat that really stands out. The choice beef, pork, chicken, gammon, sausage and more just keeps on coming (unless you use the red side of the traffic light system on your table), all beautifully cooked and carved at your table. The only complaint we had was a lack of choice of soft drinks, especially zero sugar or diet. Having diabetes, I always struggle to find zero sugar drinks with most only offering Diet Cola drinks. The only alternative is bottled water but at £3 for a small bottle this is not a reasonable, cheaper choice. This aside, this is a fantastic restaurant experience, especially after the lifting of COVID restrictions, that adds another superb reputation that Hull’s Fruit Market area already has. We will be going back many times in the future.

I saw this bubbling up restaurant over Google when I was passing through Hull. Since I had prior experience with Brazilian steakhouse, I made sure my tummy was completely empty for lunch. Coming into the restaurant, I didn't feel any exhilarating ambience, whatsoever, despite the conglomerate of vivid colours and elements. It didn't feel natural, partly because obviously, the floral spectacle was artificial. I was hoping there were natural, living plants infused to optimise the scenery. I was welcomed by staff and then ushered to my cute little corner table. I was then explained the nature of the Brazilian steakhouse and how the food was to be served at my table on top of an already set, mainly side dish, buffet waiting to be devoured. So here's where I tripped. I zealously helped myself to the buffet station, side dish after side dish that when the main meats came to the table, I was about 1/3 full. Despite that, I could only count the meats by hand that were a standout, i.e. the sausage and gammon. Some meats introduced became a struggle to chew, either I was about to be full or just the meat itself was too chewy, but the smiling gauchos were very convincing in offering their dish that it was hard to resist until I've had a few pieces left on my plate that I couldn't finish. The room smell wasn't pleasantly remarkable as if no one purposely bothered to perfume the room, but at the very least, the smoke and smell of the meats being cooked didn't compete either. So that's an absolute plus. I didn't want to feel bloated so I stopped. The endless options served were indeed overwhelming and an amazing deal to add. This is a place highly recommended for big celebrations like birthdays or work dos, no doubt.

Still baffled a week later. I had made a reservation for lunch service , and kindly they let us come in early. Got started on the food, what I will say is the selection of meats and speed they come round is significantly reduced than an evening. Food was good as usual. I went to pay the bill with a voucher and this is where it started. Was told I couldn’t pay the amount and then use the remaining balance of the voucher after that point. I was asked if I would like to pay the £77 on card and use the voucher another day, which also lacked sense. I paid the balance in the voucher and stepped outside to read their website and the email of the voucher to see their policy . I was mystified as it didn’t state this on any platform. I went back into the resteraunt and asked about this. I don’t really understand the point of 1) not stating this on their website, as I can imagine how many people are booking for food without knowing this, 2) why they didn’t mention this prior. The lady said that I could have a drink and a dessert to make up the value of the voucher. I did, but was largely disappointed that they wouldn’t just allow me keep the remaining nearly £30 on the voucher for another occasion. I went up to the bar to see if I owed anything after the drink and dessert, in which the bartender told me £3 odd. I assumed this was coming back to me as the receipt stated my overall bill was £96. The voucher value was £100. Lo and behold I was actually charged £3 odd, can’t make it up. Bartender really shouldn’t be doing card transactions in which he charged guests what was remaining on their voucher .

UPDATED REVIEW

Well since my first review me and my wife have since been back and taken the mother-in-law for a birthday surprise on the Mrs birthday, my nan and grandad on a separate occasion and again tonight (01/05/24)

We simply cannot fault this restaurant at all especially tonight. The service was well and truly absolutely outstanding!

There was no prawns today due to a delivery so the kitchen made succulent very tasty fresh cod "not battered" and Salmon especially for our table. The service was more than above and beyond excellence!

The venison was cooked slightly different tonight which gave it a beautiful taste.

This is a must to go to for any occasion. You simply will not be disappointed.

original review

Well, I've not posted a review anywhere in a long time but this place certainly deserves the time for a fantastic review.

To start with we were running 30 minutes late due to road closures and traffic in Hull, I phoned ahead and apologised and the host who answered the phone was glad to assist and extend our slot from 17:00 to 17:30. At 17:27 we got there and was sat down straight away. I'm very impressed with the service that the gentleman gave as I feared we may have to of waited for a new table opening.

The host asked if we had been before, explained where everything was, how it all works and then took our drinks order. Within 2 minutes we had drinks on the table and away we went to grab some food from the very impressive selection from the salad buffet.

Once we cleared some food off of the plates we then turned our service card to green and then the service became even more amazing.

Meat was constantly going around and the servers would ask if you wanted that selection of food that they cut off their skewers.

Once you needed a break you simply flip the card over to red and the servers leave you be until you flip green again..... what amazing idea, I've seen it at other places before but they had this system 100% spot on.

I hadn't got around to the venison yet and I spoke to one server and asked if it was on the walk around tonight, he said it is and he would get back to me with it in around 5-10 minutes. This gave the impression that the the meat is rotated in order to give everyone a good selection of all different types of meat, anyway he came back to me very shortly and had a very quick chat with him and mentioned that I had never actually tried venison before. With that he took the time to go into the kitchen and bring a skewer of venison out to me cut a tiny piece off for me to try and then gave me more because it was cooked beautifully and then took it back into the kitchen for it to be ready for the correct order of walk around. That in itself is fantastic customer service.

That's the amazing service out of the way.

Now down to the food, it was amazing I cannot fault any of it. The meats were cooked beautiful, the buffet was kept well replenished a very large selection off food.

I'd like to say, do not change anything, your business looked thriving, the staff are amazing and it just works.

Next time we go ill be bringing family members with me.

Extremely impressed keep up the good...
