Freemasons — Restaurant in England

Well, without exaggeration the best curry I’ve had on the south coast, by long long mile, quite simply superb.. Cooked with love, plenty of that, oh yes. The gravy for the curry was on another level, it really was. I was fortunate enough to speak to the inspiring chef who kindly explained that his superb gravy/sauce for all his curries are cooked for at least 4 yes 4 days before finally serving. That is a serious rarity in the Uk, it’s serious bit of cooking and the chef knows what he’s doing. The rice was excellent, tenderised beef that just melted in the mouth, incredible beef which incidentally the chef gave me the heads up with his butchers he’s got which is just literally 1 minute away from the Freemasons up farm road.. Now the Roti’s. My word, again without exaggeration the best Roti’s I’ve had outside of India, honestly you got to try them, so so good, mar it together with the curry, outstanding. You’d be a fool if you didn’t try the food in the Freemasons, you will not be disappointed, I swear! If you live in Brighton or are just visiting, you must visit this place. Real English pub, with an 80/90’s vibe, real honest people, brilliant staff, always have good music playing, food is simply on another level, what is simply not to like. I found the staff really rude could barely get a smile out of them. It felt like they were doing us a favour by eating there. I asked for gf and asked twice to make sure he got it right. Then when I got the food it had a Yorkshire pudding on it and I was just told I can just take it off. If I had celiac disease I would be in trouble. The meat was tough and my husbands food didn’t have all the vegetables like the rest of the meals. I couldn’t be bothered to say anything as I was worried they might do something to my food as they were so miserable. The pub it’self is dirty. The only reason I went is because the normal place I go to was full. Never again I shall step foot in this place. If I could give it no stars I would. There’s far better pubs...

Rented their function room for my 30th on 28th October and paid a £150 deposit. When I paid this I was told I would get it refunded on the night. On the night I was told I would get it refunded with in 3 working days. We are now nearly 2 weeks out and I have been emailing and ringing everyday with no answer. Apparently the systems have changed recently but that’s not my issue. I paid £150 to rent the space as long as x amount was spent between my guests which it was plus more. I have wasted so much time chasing this and still have not been refunded £150. Now been told to ring back in an hour again. Avoid if you’re planning to use their function room as currently we are getting no where. They just keep telling me we will get it sorted...
