The first impression of this restaurant was excellent. The decor is very nice although the menu was wet on the table we were sat at upstairs. The smells from the kitchen were very appetising. Initially I tried to order dishes from the stock photos on the website, to be told they were only available at lunchtime. We ordered duck spring rolls and squid for starters. The squid was rubbery and undercooked. That was the first thing that couldn't be eaten. We ordered two fish dishes for mains. One was described as mildly hot on the menu and the other was described as hotter. When the food arrived we were disappointed to find there was so much chilli in both dishes, they were barely edible. I love chilli and spice but it was even too much for me. And as they were fish dishes this totally overpowered and spoiled the meals. There were huge chunks of lemon grass and whole green peppercorn trees and many other inedible items on the plate. We...

I ate at Giggling Squid Hove on 29 June 2025. I ordered a main course of the Sticky Chicken £14.99. It was so spicy. Someone else at our table also ordered it. We were unable to eat it because of the amount of chili. The waitress said it wasn’t possible to cook it with less chili as the sauce is delivered to the restaurant, presumably just for re-heating prior to serving. Not exactly the 'chef creation’ boasted on your menu. Also AI refers to the food being cooked on site. This is not correct. We were offered one portion of Pad Thai and no charge was made for the Sticky Chicken, rightly so. The Pad Thai with chicken was dry and unpleasant and we left it. I have travelled to Thailand many times and eaten Thai food many times so am well used to the flavours. I had a horrible meal and it was expensive. I would never return to your restaurant, what a...

A Disastrous Experience – Avoid at All Costs!

We placed a large order from this restaurant via Deliveroo, only for them to completely mess it up. They failed to deliver one of our main courses, which was extremely disappointing. When we called the restaurant to resolve the issue, they outright refused to send out the missing item or take any responsibility. Instead, they brushed us off, saying we needed to raise the issue with Deliveroo.

After wasting ages on Deliveroo's frustrating online chat, they refused to refund us because we couldn’t "prove" the item was missing. How exactly do you prove something isn’t there?

This was an infuriating experience from start to finish. Neither the restaurant nor Deliveroo cares about customer service or accountability. Do yourself a favour: avoid this restaurant and think twice before using Deliveroo. Unreliable, unhelpful, and not...

I came with a couple of friend to grab a takeaway. On a Friday they had ran out of beef..so had to get chicke and seafood dishes. I ordered the pork belly and salt and chilli squid for starters. We had prawns and red curry and a massaman curry too. It took around 25mins to be made which was ok, we went for a drink around the corner while waited. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food it self when I ate it was just ok, maybe I should try dine in, but I felt the prawns were not crunchy and the rotis were a bit hard. The spice level is high as well so make sure you can handle the heat 😜 if you get something hot. We spend about £75 for three and on relfection not great value.

I booked over a week in advance to celebrate my daughters birthday. Advising them in writing that my children have nut allergies. The kids menu literally had 2 items my daughter could eat - boiled rice and pork dumplings. I asked if any adjustments could be made on either kids menu or main menu. Apparently not really. I was then given the menu matrix to order from (pic below) but they couldn't guarantee a nut free dish. At this stage they were getting irritated that I wasn't able to grasp that the menu wasn't flexible. We walked out and went to another Thai restaurant who were more than happy to accommodate.

Love giggling squid. I came to Brighton on a staystaction and saw good reviews, ever since I’ve found 2 more that are local to me in Brentwood and chistlehurst and they are both lovely and had better decor. But this particular one was the best in terms of the food it was amazing, best squid I’ve ever had! Even the vegetables were delicious, the staff were friendly. The restaurant was at limited capacity due to COVID so seating was limited but still had a great time. When I visit Brighton again I would 100% go back. We had the lamb shank and sharing platter (The pictures don’t do it justice)
