Was looking for an independent cafe and picked Gigiâs as the ambience looked promising, not overly busy and clean without the âgreasy spoonâ smell. We didnât have much time to find elsewhere so stuck with our choice but spent ÂŁ30.00 for two toasties, 2 drinks and 2 slices of cake; I found ÂŁ7.00 for a ham and cheese toastie to be very excessive! Everything else was reasonably priced but the food wasnât even a particularly high standard for the cost. Plenty of cakes to choose from though which enticed me but sadly my cake was rather dry and overly sweet. Table space was small and we werenât served our cake so I assumed they would bring it to us when we had finished the meal but no one bothered to take away our empty plates or mention our cakes, and we were sat right in front of the till!! I took the liberty of taking my plates up myself and requesting my cakes which they had forgotten about. I also saw two other issues with customers; one being overcharged and one looked like they may have received a refund as they left straight after using the card machine. Whilst I appreciate independent businesses, Iâm afraid I wonât be going back as the prices were not in keeping with the food quality or service, also the vibe...
Read moreAbsolutely shocking đ˛ ordered at the till and was told to sit down. Waited 8 minutes for the women in a white jumper and white hat to storm over and slam the glasses down on the table and mumble something under breath. I would like to take this minute to point out i did stand at counter not knowing it was table service till someone said.
Music is extremely loud and not a nice atmosphere.
The counter area behind till covered in dirty plates and cups and sink full of dirty water witho bits in. I would not eat here đ 𤢠Cake counter in front of till was covered in crumbs and just not very pleasant looking puts someone off from eating here.
I will never ever be coming in here again after that shocking behaviour from staff. Only come here if you want an interaction like we did.

Read moreWe have been here many times. But this was the last time. We ordered our drinks & sandwiches as always. We had been waiting 20 mins after I heard other customers complaining about the wait. The cafe was empty by the time we got our ham salad sandwiches. After I said to the young girl we was still waiting. She said it would be 2 mins. The sandwiches was just chucked together & they just looked a mess. A white haired lady from behind the counter walked passed & my husband made conversation with her saying how they was busy. He was half way through a sentence & her 3 grandsons walked in. She brushed him off to make three milkshakes which they made immediately. During the early part of the year a pleasant visit the staff are very polite,it just seems they cannot cope with busy periods even...
