The Rockfish is the place to be in Weymouthāand clearly, I wasnāt the only one who thought so. It was so busy the night before that I made a reservation for the next evening, and thank cod I didāI saw people being turned away at the door like it was a seafood nightclub. šš
Enter Ella, the absolute star of the show. From the moment we stepped in, she was warm, playful, and genuinely made the whole experience unforgettable. It's staff like Ella who take a great meal and make it memorable š
Now, letās talk food: weāre a classic fish 'nā chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce kind of family, and Rockfish elevated that simple pleasure into something worthy of a standing ovation. I couldnāt even tell you exactly which fish I orderedābecause frankly, I was too busy living my best seaside lifeābut it came with bones, and thatās how you know itās fancy (donāt worry, you can ask for it to be boneless).
And yes, we asked for ketchup and mayo like the rebels we areāeven though we knew was taboo in such a posh establishment. Zero regrets. The unlimited chips were hot and heavenly.
The location? Scenic AF. Youāre dining beside the sea and amusement park, which pairs beautifully with grilled perfection and a sea breeze.
If youāre visiting Weymouth and donāt eat at Rockfish, youāve missed the boat. Thank you again, Ellaāthe food was incredible, but what weāll remember...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff at Rockfish are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and they make you feel really comfortable and appreciated. This is the second time I've visited, different staff each time and the standard was just as good both times. Food, not so good. It was okay. Chips, unlimited š, were really good, but although we spent Ā£80 for two of us, it was only the chips and cockles that stood out. And the cockles were only as good as you'd find on any cockle stall. The scallops were okay, but Ā£23+ for 3 scallops was crazy, and the mixed platter we had was all stuck together and flat on the plate. Looked unappetising, and tasted mediocre. The bread was nice, the scallops were cooked well but the sauce just tasted of butter. We were there at 5pm, and lots of the regular, standard menu dishes were already unavailable. The choice of things to tick below doesn't include everything we tried, so it probably looks bad that I'll only uptick chips. Would have loved to have been able to try the things on the regular menu we wanted. No prawns. No 'rockfish'... At 5pm?!? Great staff, would go back just for the guys and girls who go out of their way to make your night special, but the food really shouldn't have to rely on them for a return visit. It's not cheap. The staff know that, someone...
Read moreBooked this place like an hr before we were due to visit and luckily got a table. I'm not a fan of seafood at all and I hate fish and chip. However, this is easily in my top 5 favorite restaurants of all time. Really nice vibes and the restaurant was warm and clean. We ordered twmpura prawns, calamari and halloumi fries for starters. The calamari was unlike anything I've ever tasted. Halloumi fries were amazing, can't really go wrong with it. The prawns were delicious. I ordered the fish burger and it was so delicious. My wife ordered the crab and she was a bit disappointed because she was unaware that the crab was served cold. I liked it though. My kids had fish and chips and it was among the best fish and chips I've ever had. The kids were also happy to receive a complimentary gift bag with lots of goodies. We visited from London and it honestly wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. The crab alone was £26 so I was expecting to pay quite a lot for a family of 4. We ordered 3 starters, 6 drinks, 2 mains and 2 kid mains and our bill was only £97. I say only because just last week I took my wife out to a steak restaurant and I paid £130 for just the 2 of us and the food was horrible. I'd recommend Rockfish in...
