Kelly's Kitchen — Restaurant in England

Well I have frequented this restaurant for the past 3 years, sadly today bank Holiday 27th May when we placed our order was told it could be a 30 to 40 minute delay . We accepted and sat at a table where the kitchen sevices was in full view. WELL the chefs were placing the food with there plates on the shelf waiting for someone to take them to a hungry customer. To my surprise the chefs took the toast once done and threw it over the food with there bare hands no gloves how did they get a 5 star rating? Being very disappointed at this I patiently waited my time. Later I had to ask the waitress after 40 minutes where is my breakfast she answered it's very busy and I replied to her that I agreed but was told the waiting period was 40 minutes sadly I waited another 10 minutes to no avail after 50 minutes I asked for a refund where the lady gave me my refund and did apologise which I accepted but now I shall look elsewhere for a tasty breakfast they have lost my custom as a suggestion before ending my sad story I believe that they need a manager who has the know how, how to deal with custom who can sympathise with the customer what a shame if this restaurant does not change...

Went in today at around 2 o'clock for a bite to eat with my friend. We were greeted with being asked what we wanted in the most abrupt tone by a waitress who clearly had had enough for the day. The food was alright, nothing too special. The price mark was way above the value of my meal. I had a chicken burger which was good, with a salad that consisted of green salad leaves and raw red onion. It came with some oven chips too. The waiting staff are nonchalant, generally rude and have a dismissive attitude. Although we were asked if we needed any sauces and things, when we said what we'd like, the waitress behaved like it was a hardship. Then the waitress asked if she could clear some of the table. What she actually did was clear everything, including the plate my friend was still eating from. Astonishing. The atmosphere and the nature of the staff made it clear we weren't going to get anywhere by complaining. Went in for lunch today with my hubbie. Very clean and waitress very pleasant. Ordered gf toastie to be informed I would have to pay an extra £1. I'm celiac and I've never been anywhere that I've been told I had to pay extra for gf bread. On the menu it read to ask for gf bread. Sandwich was nice but when I went to pay I mentioned that perhaps it should be on the menu or on display that gf sandwiches would be £1 extra. I was then met with the most rude person who made a couldn't care less grimace and said well it is expensive. A waitress next to her appoligised while the rude one just sneered. I thanked the other waitress for at least explaining but the other waitress was just disinterested. Sadly I will not return to this Cafe. I only gave it 3 stars as the food was nice and most of the staff were pleasant. Who ever owns this business might like to refresh the menu stating extra charge for gluten free bread or have a sign saying this and also give the person working the till a lesson in good...
