CONQUER Trading Post — Local services in Great Britain

One of my favourite shops in all of keswick, very cosy and the staff are always super lovely and helpful. The pieces they sell not only appeal to a wide range of budgets, styles and ages but are also of high quality and are unique to any other lake district "merch" you'll find. Not only does this shop support small artists with their sticker and patch collection but the pieces are perfectly picked and feel neither too gauche or too tacky. I have a big collection of their stickers on my water bottle and their patches on my blanket but I also invested in one of their decor pillows which I've recieved a lot of compliments on! I always look forward to seeing what new designs they come up with not to mention their well picked collection of books on nature, hiking and other outdoor sports. Their candles are on the more expensive side for their size but last longer and smell better than any other I've bought. I absolutely adore their nature card pack and I frequently use their pocket book when tracking my hikes - there truly is something...

I loved the items on sale and was instantly drawn to the shop instead of the ice cream shop next door which does in fact sell the best ice cream ever. I loved the fun and colourful merchandise and bought two of the badges for my kids as keepsakes for Wild swimming in Derwent water with the promise that if the earned some of the other badges on our future adventures i would get them for them as we visit the lakes at least once annually. However my only let down of the whole experience was the what seemed like sniggering and mocking I got from the cashiers as I walked toward the till. Perhaps it was just me but I felt like I was being judged as I walked to the till for only buying two badges or perhaps because they were for wild swimming and guesses on what I was buying and what for was a game to get through the day… either way it just felt uncomfortable. Very young cashiers which I’m not opposed to but it’s just how I felt. I’ll still return for the above...

In eager anticipation of getting up to Keswick to visit this epic looking store in person, I made a purchase on the website. Couldn't believe how fast we received the amazing purchase, beautifully packaged and it made the perfect 'just because' gift. So excited to finally have a store like this in the UK - it stocks fab brands and is brilliant for a National Park lover and fans of great quality products. I will ensure the car boot is empty when we finally get to the physical store, as will want 1...
