My experience at The Leaf at the Castle was a mixed bag. While the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was attentive, there were some aspects of the dining experience that left much to be desired. Upon arrival, we were handed A3 sheets of paper for the menu, which immediately struck me as a bit concerning. The menus appeared to be of low quality, with visible food stains. Although the restaurant looked promising from the outside, the menu presentation did not inspire confidence. For starters, we ordered the seared scallops and ham hock. While both dishes were tasty, the portion size of the scallops was disappointing considering the price tag of £14. However, the flavors were enjoyable, and the ham hock was well-prepared. Moving on to the mains, we opted for the lamb chops and butter chicken. The lamb chops were beautifully cooked but unexpectedly spicy. While I personally enjoy spicy food, it may come as a shock to diners who are not accustomed to it. Similarly, the butter chicken was also surprisingly fiery. We selected a bottle of Italian wine from the wine list priced at £44, which complemented the meal well. However, we did encounter a slight hiccup with the service as our request for water at the table was forgotten, although this can happen from time to time. Overall, The Leaf at the Castle offers a pleasant atmosphere and attentive service. However, the quality of the menu and the unexpectedly spicy nature of some dishes detracted from the overall dining experience. With some improvements in menu presentation and consistency in flavor profiles, this restaurant has the potential to excel.

An Afternoon of Elegance at The Leaf at the Castle, Windsor An experience at The Leaf at the Castle in Windsor is nothing short of a refined indulgence, perfect for those seeking a truly distinguished afternoon tea. We had a fantastic experience at the Leaf Restaurant situated in the Castle Hotel, Windsor this Sunday (28th September 2025). The food was exceptional, with great attention to detail and big portions. The waiting staff/managers in the restaurant were great. They really made it special. One lady, I think more of a manager in the restaurant than actual waiting staff, really helped us to choose the dessert giving great recommendations. She then surprised us with a birthday treat as this was a belated birthday present. Earlier in the week I had communicated with the restaurant and hotel staff about the booking and they were all very helpful. Reception on arrival also helped us sort our parking out straight away, once again with no hesitation . A huge thank you to everyone for making the day so lovely.

Being there yesterday 5th of November 2022 …. Beautiful place, lovely food but HORRIBLE service; booked a table for 10 (the lady that booked the table for celebrating her birthday even passed by a couple of days before to ensure it was noted) had to wait to be seated and the worst part, they kept us waiting outside on a rainy day even tough, we were with a baby… Finally, they accommodated us in the terrace, after asking two ladies to move table… got the drinks order wrong (seemed unfamiliar to the menu) The table was booked for 15:30 and an hour later we were still waiting for our food to come. When it finally did, we asked the waitress for mayonnaise and ketchup, marking, enough for the whole table, he looked annoyed and yet, despite being 10 he only brought 3 servings… and finally after paying more than £400 I said, in Spain for this we would have had free shots … This is Windsor he replied… thank you for pointing that out… I guess it gives you free pass for the bad service … the shots, would have been a nice touch after the horribly long waiting experience… but you also missed that… Obviously we are...
