By the Law of Averages I am obliged to rate this establishment 3 stars. For now anyway, but that score is primarily for its entertainment value. It's early days I suppose for Yours Truly, a potential regular, and I will visit again but based on my latest encounter, my impression from an earlier visit has been severely undermined: frosty greeting, surly mumbled answers to reasonable enquiries and then the crowning presumption that all customers wishing to eat near the soft chairs will spill everything. Dare to do it and you will be banished to the back of the room. Phew! I'm used to varying systems of work among cafeterias but this one baffles and requires a spot of mind-reading on the part of the customer. Failure to engage telepathically will result in a tirade and throughout which hot drinks rapidly cool; but woe betide anyone attempting to rescue their approximation to coffee before the rest of the order is eventually completed! Read moreA gem of a find! We aren't from scarborough or live close though we often come and we'd never found this prom dress shop until October time! We will definitely be trying the cafe when we come back for future appointments regarding my prom dress for prom 2024. We saw the sign for frockabella and thought we'd spare 10 minutes to randomly walk in and ask to look/try on a few dresses. The lady was instantly accommodating and lifted my spirits and confidence of finding a dress hugely! She offered not only words of wisdom but also kindness. Within 20 minutes of trying dresses on, I'd instantly found my dream dress that I'd been told I 'couldn't wear' and I fell in love, as did my family
Thank you frockabella! Can't wait to come back to finish the...

But venture up the stairs and you will find an oasis of tranquillity amidst Scarborough's busiest shops. The spacious floor has discreetly spaced tables to the right in front of a large crescent window.
Across the floor, the counter looks like a sophisticated hotel bar in front of a large easy-seating lounge area. And in the far corner is a boutique, FrockaBella. It looks too classy and sophicated for Scarborough, but I've been told the place has been open thirteen years. They must be doing something right.
The coffee is good (I especially recommend the Hot Chocolate Royale) and there's sure to be a slice of three tier cake...
