Yesterday I visited for lunch with my family and I'm appalled. We ordered 2 cheese and bean toasties for me and my sister, 2 lattes for my grandparents and a cheesecake for them to share. (Which they tried to charge her for 2 of but a refund was given) The menu stated the toasties came with chips and at the till the server asked if we wanted normal chips or waffle chips, failing to mention the waffle chips would cost extra. And who's not going to choose waffle chips over normal chips! So he conned my poor grandma into spending more money. The lattes came cold and were hardly lattes, genuinely thought it was just hot milk... My grandparents asked if they could have the cheesecake now with their lattes whilst we ate our toasties (which were incredibly bland and the cheese tasted artificial it was such a disappointment) and the server said alright. Not even kidding, half an hour later, toasties gone, lattes drunk still no sign of the cheesecake. And they weren't even busy at all, hardly anyone in (it was 2pm on a Thursday) so I cannot understand why it took so long. It got up to the point where I went to the till to ask for a refund for the cheesecake because was ready to leave. Fortunately for them, in the time it took for these slow slow servers to serve this old lady in front of me the cheesecake arrived right as the old lady was finished being served. We got it boxed up and left. (It was also a tiny cheesecake slice, not worth £4.) So to conclude, Poor serving Lousy workers Unsanitary (sticky tables, food not being cleaned for ages despite them not being busy) Bland food and drink And to top it off They conned my poor grandma into spending...

We visited this pub last night x great pub and lovely staff. However we will never visit this place again due to the door staff x both of them showed no respect to anyone demanding a chap take his hat off with such attitude!!! Security surly are taught to diffuse situations ??? Not cause situations, it’s about how you address people give them respect and you will get respect back!! Obviously if you have badly behaved customers it may b a slightly different situation. I witnessed them refusing a young black teenager in with his mother the reasoning was because he had jog bottoms on ??? This was approx 8pm and children/teens are suppose to b welcome till 9pm. When I looked around I saw quite a few customers with joggers on and shorts etc and this young lad was very smartly dressed even though he had jog bottoms on. I overheard a lady asking them why they refused her nephew and sister entry, there excuse was that he had jog bottoms on. However this lady said that there was various people in the pub with joggers on so why was he been targeted ??? She then accused the bouncers of being racist!!! I then witnessed the bouncers after this confrontation going over the lady and her family and tried dragging the drink off one of the ladies hands😱 everyone was extremely confused at the security’s behaviour was totally unacceptable x all I can say is this pub need to relook at there security firm as I think they will lose business letting these thugs continue treating there well...

Unfortunately have to give a star as google won’t allow neutral or negative comments. This was quite frankly the worse place I have had the misfortune to enter in my life. The bar staff are obnoxious and the manager should not be in the service industry. They got our drink order wrong so we immediately returned to the bar for this to be rectified, barmaid took so long to serve us and would not accept fault or card payment for the drink that we had to pay for again. Had to pay cash for the drink no card payment under £5. When I eventually got back to table, food had arrived and mine had gone cold. Went back to the bar to speak to manager and request a refund, after a while of again trying to get the attention of staff, who was being downright belligerent and purposely ignoring me I asked again for a refund. Was told to go away and they would come to us when ready. Eventually manager came to us at the table and told us to leave and was shouting in front of our children. My husband did raise his voice and was somewhat assertive but did not swear. I had to go back again to the manager who said he’d only given a partial refund for food only. I again explained that it was the barmaids error and the money was thrusted on me and the manager said “I don’t care, just go”. It was a Saturday afternoon but not too busy.
