Mr Hugo German Street Food — Restaurant in England

We had heard good reviews for Mr Hugos so decided to give it a try for my birthday. We were a party of 4 adults and a 10 month child. They did have high chairs which was a bonus. The atmosphere was relaxed. The place was clean staff were friendly and it was easy to order from the ipad. However 2 meals came at least 10 minutes before the others and were not exactly what was ordered. The burgers were missing onions and mayonnaise. We sent them back to be rectified and did receive an apology. Bt this time 4 diners were sharing the 2 diners fries and waiting on the return of the burgers and the original meals still had not arrived. When the burgers were returned the other 2 meals eventually arrived, missing pretzels. We didn't complain again, just ate and left. We noticed that other diners were returning their orders as well. I am afraid that I wouldn't recommend this place. Every order had items missing from it. Pricing was reasonable if you get what you pay for. What to do better. Nothing great to say. Nothing bad to say. It was fine. Ok. Mediocre. The Weiner Schnitzel was made of what tasted like chicken thighs compressed together wrapped in a breaded crust which had been deep fried and was dripping in grease and tasted of dirty oil. A little off putting. The fries were delicious. The potato salad was very tasty. The whole meal was hot and filling. The milkshake was nice. The currywurst, was good, despite it tasting like the £1.99 microwavable currywurst pots from Lidl that they get in from time to time. Nothing wrong with them, but there is a significant price difference. Don't get me wrong, it was a perfectly acceptable and edible meal. Relatively fairly priced for what we got, but if I wanted a bite to eat in that area of hull, I'm afraid my money would be spent round the corner in the new German Kebab House eatery. Came in today to try their signature dish Wiener Schnitzel, sat down with a pint, staff member came back 5 mins later, said we haven't had time to prep the Schnitzel..! What?? lol!! their most expensive dish on there menu!

I asked for my money back, got refund, ... His couldn't care less attitude finished the experience off, as I finished my pint I looked around to say goodbye, thinking id get some sort of sorry for your experience today... but he was too busy chatting to his friend outside

Won't be returning, shame as I love German food and have travelled around Germany for over 30 years... Was excited to have a German restaurant in Hull... And it's failed on the first attempt
