I couldn't really fault Wings in the main, the food was delicious and there was so much choice! I think it would take several trips to actually get to try everything that was on offer. The two minor issues that I picked up on were 1 - the ladies' rest-room floor was incredibly "sticky", I don't know why, whether it was due to not being cleaned properly, or just the flooring being of a naturally sticky nature, but I didn't find it particularly pleasant to walk on & it wasn't the nicest start to my visit. However, the restaurant itself was clean & the staff were diligent in their clearing & cleaning of tables. The other bugbear I had was that two of us ordered water to drink. Everyone's drinks arrived quickly, except the water. Eventually, I asked a passing member of staff about it & they told me they didn't bring water to the table, and that we had to go to the bar to fetch it. It would have been helpful to have been told this! It would probably have helped us with the ensuing confusion at the bar. My DiL went to fetch the drinks, but she was gone so long I thought I'd see what the problem was, when I got there, she was stood at at the hugely busy bar surrounded by staff racing around ordering drinks, we felt were an encumberance. There was an uncomfortable moment when a member of staff asked for our table number, which we couldn't remember, & I was reluctant to walk all the way back as I am relatively disabled & find walking a challenge, eventually another member of staff told him to just give us the water & we returned to our seats. We couldn't understand why it was such a big deal, with the waiter pulling up our drinks order to check we'd actually ordered water! The confusion continued when I asked my husband for another glass as I was desperately thirsty- he came back asking for my (not quite empty) glass so I could have a refill! In an all you can eat restaurant where you get a clean plate each time you go up - I couldn't understand why it was such a big deal I only ever drink water when I'm out, I don't drink fizzy drinks or alcohol ever I literally only drink tea, coffee or water, so I wasn't being difficult, or awkward, I was just enjoying a meal out with my family. We'd driven over 50 miles to get to this restaurant on the recommendation of some family members who had found it by chance, so I was disappointed to feel so stressed for asking for just a glass of tap water. I would have happily gone up for the water had I been told! As I would have just as happily relinquished my glass had I been told! It seems so silly, but it stressed out my evening because I felt totally penalised for being a water drinker. I know I absolutely would not have been made to feel such a nuisance if I'd ordered a fizzy drink. However, I hasn't stopped me from going, & I hope we will again one day, but now I am well aware they do not appreciate water drinkers, and will ensure I will stop off at the bar first before i...
Read moreRacist and Disrespectful – A Truly Awful Experience at Wings Hull
I had one of the worst dining experiences ever at Wings in Hull. I went with three friends to celebrate a birthday. We paid for the urban buffet expecting a fun evening, but were met with disrespect, poor service, and clear racism.
From the moment we entered, we were treated differently from other guests. The staff were cold, dismissive, and made us feel unwelcome. While we were still eating, a staff member abruptly told us to leave — with no explanation and no courtesy. It was shocking, humiliating, and completely uncalled for.
The way we were treated was not just rude — it was blatantly racist. There was no justification for how we were spoken to or forced to leave early. It was clear that we were being targeted unfairly.
There are so many restaurants in Hull where people are treated with respect and dignity — Wings is not one of them. I strongly advise anyone, especially people of colour or from diverse backgrounds, to avoid this place completely.
Rating: 1 star — only because I can’t leave zero.
My response to Wings Hull management’s reply to my previous review:
I appreciate your response, but I find it both disappointing and inaccurate.
At no point were we informed about a 90-minute dining policy upon arrival, nor was there any clear signage within the restaurant or on your official website regarding this.
If this is indeed a formal policy, it should be made clear from the outset, not suddenly enforced partway through our meal.
We were celebrating a birthday and had young children with us, so naturally, our priority was to feed them first before eating ourselves. It was only once the children were settled that a member of your staff approached us sharply to say our time was up, giving us just 15 minutes’ notice.
The issue isn’t the existence of a time limit, but how selectively and disrespectfully it was applied.
Additionally, your staff monitored our table excessively and uncomfortably, making us feel unwelcome and scrutinised.
This treatment significantly impacted our experience, and we will not be returning.
We never asked for special treatment—only the basic respect every customer deserves, which regrettably,...

Starts off a random customer having a go at me trying to say I shouldn’t be in the queue. (There was no queue so me and my family went and stood where there should have been one) she obviously hadn’t realised u needed to queue as she was sat down. After that me and my partner took our daughter in a pram down in the lift unfortunately there was a sign saying only three people so my disabled mother took the stairs which she has done at Wings many times before with no problem. She uses stairs everywhere else when the lift is full or there’s a big wait. It just takes her a minute or so longer and she has to go slower but she’s a fully grown adult capable of making her own decisions.
As she’s coming down the stairs she’s rushed by a member of staff (there was nobody else waiting to use the stairs so there was no rush) and the staff member has a go at her telling her she should have used the lift. The staff members gone was completely off. She could have just said “please use the lift as we have concerns over your safety” but no it was having a go and rushing my mum. I asked my mum what she had said as I’m having hearing issues and I didn’t hear. This staff member then confronted me and started telling me what she had said and goes on and on expecting a fight obviously but I was just asking my mum to repeat what she had said. The staff member never once smiled or thanked us or nothing. having been to wings many times and had lovely staff I was really really surprised by this. That should have been it. We know the quality of wings food and it’s usually decent enough for the price you pay. Well it wasn’t this Time. You could see food was clearly being reused from the day before and me and my partner (unsure about my parents) were really Ill that night ruining the rest of my birthday.
It’s such a shame as I hoped to email my complaint to wings instead of posting a review but here we are. And as I have said we have been to wings loads of times so really didn’t expect this at all. Next time we may have to find somewhere else. Really really...
