Read moreBooked to come here as a couple after seeing loads of videos all over social media.
When we arrived we were asked to wait at the bar while the table was made for us which is fine, however when we sat at the bar no one offered us a drink which was unusual, after a 5-10 minute wait we were showed to our table, given menus and asked if we would like a drink.
When our drinks arrived (2 large Coke Zeros) they were in small glasses and absolutely crammed with ice so there wasn’t a lot of actual coke in there.
We ordered a 6 different dishes from the menu as we wanted to try a wide range of what this restaurant has to offer.
After ordering, the food came very quickly, maybe 5 minutes after placing the order which isn’t an issue in itself but it made me a bit skeptical of the freshness and quality of the food. None of the food was very hot and could be described as being luke warm which was disappointing.
We received 5 out of the 6 dishes we ordered apart from the onion bhajis. The waiting on staff were very friendly and when I reminded one of the waitresses about the last dish we had’t received she said she would check for us, in the end I had to ask three times before they finally came to our table at which point we had finished all the other dishes.
When we finished, one of the waitresses started clearing our table but then stopped halfway through and left three empty plates on the table. We eventually had to get up to ask another waitress for our bill after sitting in a half cleared table for 10-15 minutes.
Overall this place has lots of potential and I think I understand what it’s trying to be, it just seems unorganised and poorly managed from the front of house and back of house, maybe a lack of communication?
Would love to come here again but not until an improvement has been made.
Side note - the gents toilets were in a poor state, I don’t know if it’s just because the restaurant was busy at the time? One of the urinals was blocked and the sinks were just not very clean and missing...
Read moreI went with my boyfriend a few days ago due to the hype on social media. When we got into the restaurant they asked us to sit and wait even though there were lots of tables available that weren’t reserved. This didn’t seem right, but I let it slide as we had only just come in and we’re expecting high standard food. My boyfriend ordered some beer and when it came it was flat. I asked for white wine spritzer with lemonade. They served me white wine without anything else. I asked if they could put some lemonade in it for me. They came back and there was a fly in my drink. My boyfriend went to the bar to say if I could get another one, and stated that he wasn’t trying to be difficult but there was a fly in my drink. They rectified the situation and apologised. The waiter was good, and his service was good. However, when we tasted the food, we were really disappointed because it all lacked flavour. Personally, I can’t handle too much spice, but even for me this was very bland. It’s a real shame because we ordered lots of starters and it was all the same issue: no flavour. I can see lots of potential in this place, with the dishes too. The ideas are there, but it seemed that the dishes that came out were not fully accomplished. Hopefully they can have a look at the menu and try to incorporate more spice and flavour, for the menu has a lot of promise. It is just some basic things like ensuring flavour has been absorbed into the batter, this was not there and it was disappointing. My boyfriend liked the samosa chaat but that was all. I don’t know whether the mains are better than the starters, but I have seen other reviews where flavour has been an issue. Overall we were disappointed, however I hope things can...
