I ordered two little breakfasts with a pot of tea for two. Price approximately £18.00. Tea comes separate. No problem I can read the menu and see the prices.
The food comes and the beans are cold. If i am paying £18.00, I expect the food to be served correctly. Not a lot to ask.
I tell the waitress who asks if I would like some more. Yes please.
5 minutes later the beans arrive, literally melted together. Maybe the chef has a problem with complaints, as it seemed he was trying to make a point. Problem was I had finished my food. I explained to the waitress it was too late, as I had finished my food. She simply says sorry and walks off.
So as my wife finishes I speak to the Manager, bald chap can't miss him. I have nothing against baldies, I'm one myself.
I explained the situation, suggesting they could have made good by having offered me a free cup of tea. I didn't want the tea, I just wanted a little common courtesy, polite common sense customer service.
The manager who clearly didn't care and with complete apathy, asked did I want a cup of tea. I said no as we were both now finished. Expecting maybe an offer of a free cup of tea next time or a voucher as way of apology, I received neither. Bare in mind I don't live in Bournemouth and could never have used it. I would however have gladly accepted, as it was the principle. The offer to make good was what I wanted. SIMPLE, BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE.
The manager is a complete disingenuous waste of space who couldn't be more obviously disinterested if he tried. Time for you to move on my friend, your not up to the job. As for the chef what a joke, you can't even cook...
Read moreOn a busy Saturday afternoon we sat down outside for a bite to eat before we went to the cinema. Not all the outside tables were occupied & the inside was virtually empty. The waiter took our order for two lagers, a cheese & ham toastie & some fries promptly. So far, so good. The beer arrived after seven or eight minutes, a bit warm but okay. The bill arrived shortly after which we paid. Ten minutes later our change arrived - no sign of food. Only after a forty minute delay did the food arrive and my partner had to bring it out herself from the bar where it had been languishing.
The family sitting next to us said they'd had the same experience. In fact one of them had gone elsewhere while there were waiting and brought a snack back at which point a waiter very promptly told them that his manager had spotted this and that they weren't allowed to do that so they left.
As I was leaving after using the toilets, I overheard yet another customer at the bar complaining that her food hadn't arrived.
The waiters were polite but clearly knew what a chicken-s**t organization they were working for...
Read moreOrdered 1x tuna & cheese panini + 1x cheese & tomato toastie + drinks. What was actually served was a tuna & cheese toastie + cheese ham toastie. The tuna/cheese toastie tasted rank (poor quality tuna that smelt 'off' 🤢) Both were also overcooked. We never complained as the guy serving was extremely busy managing the entire front (taking orders, clearing up & serving) all by himself on what was a very busy day. Nevertheless, he was always very polite and I didn't want to make his day worse by give him a bad time. The real problem here is what's happening in the kitchen! Whoever is preparing the food clearly doesn't care what they send out. I suspect it's not always been like this looking at older reviews/photos....so, what's changed recently?? It's a great building & location... but now very shabby / unclean inside & the food is EXTREMELY poor. Cannot recommend this place to anyone & I'm unlikely to visit again unless the menu/food...
