Papa's Fish & Chips Scarborough Seafront Takeaway — Restaurant in England

1st of all, we only wanted a portion of chips & scraps so we decided to go to papa's scarborough bc everywhere else was closed, the way they have set up taking orders is ridiculous & makes absolutely no sense, a woman pushed infront of us bc of this, we eventually got to give our order, at exactly 10 to 8, with about 3 orders in front of us, the girl behind the counter was just taking order after order instead of getting the orders they already had served, it isn't made to order & all the food was there ready ro go but it took her until 20:06 to get us chips...& scraps, a couple was there so ling they forgot what they had ordered that was then wrong! The staff were too busy talking, messing around & drinking the gravy!! It was an absolute shambles, as I said if it was cooked to order then yeah, understandable but the food was there done & ready, she couldve got us our chips aswell as the other 4 people who only ordered chips served but they were messing about instead, over 15 minutes...for chips!?!?! Why!? I very rarely leave reviews unless I am impressed or its a good small business who benefits from them or if the service/experience is absolutley terrible & this chippy is up there with the worst & I've been...

If I could give this place a 0 I would. Terrible customer service, It was my first time ever going and I didn't know the portion sizes so I asked the lady if she could possibly show me the small takeaway box and medium takeaway box. The woman started giving me attitude about how there were customers behind me as if I did not know that already but the boxes were right behind her and it would not have taken more than a minute. After that when I was ordering for my kids and my sister she was giving me attitude as if I wasn't going to pay for it

I gave the food 1 star because it was absolutely horrible I don't know who decided it was Britain's best fish and chips because they need to get their taste buds checked. The chips were extremely greasy and the fish was greasy I wasted about £35 my family could not eat any of it we also found loads of hair in our food and I guess it was because they weren't wearing hairnets!

The fish and chips was not very nice for one. On the other side the service was awful. Asked if there is a doughnut stand near by. Lady was like no I was none and she was like nope. I was none here she was like well bin I know open. Two customers besides me just said I am not from here but I know there may be one up the road another one was like I seen obe on the corner. Nonethless got my order asked for a carrier bag as I couldn't carry it as I had an umbrella in one hand as it was raining heavy. The young lady just stuck it on the table and cracked on talking. No effort to help me close the boxes of food and put it in the bag. (Open food rain getting on food) It was a biggish order too. I had my hands full and nearly forgot gravy. Again no effort to give a little shout out to say excuse you forgot your gravy however she managed to put the gravy aside back within the two few seconds I walked away. A guy another guy who had been on the event was like they got bocommon sense have they. I was like I am glad it wasn't just me. I will be posting this on all the family day out review forums...
