Shocking, Don't go wasting your money. Under New Management (Apparently) - They need to take a few courses in Customer Service.
Visited here this weekend 18th Sept 2021. The table was booked earlier in the day for a table for 4 at 7:20pm. We arrive 5min early, and stood at the door waiting to be greeted, with another 2 parties also stood around waiting. No staff members around.
After about 5 minutes we were taken to our table, that had only just been vacated by the previous customers (not unusual in Italian restaurant's, I know).
While we were given menus on arrival, we sat and waited and waited, about 15-20mins later, the waitress took our drinks order. Another 10mins passed and she came back and took our meal order - still no drinks at this point. Another 20mins passed, before the drinks arrived. (30-40mins to wait for our drinks!!)
Things then spiralled out of control, as what looked to be a Chef (or owner) came from back-of-house came through, looking to make space, for yet more walk-ins. A small family seated beside us were asked to move elsewhere, basically to make space for a larger party. It was at this point the Chef, started dragging tables around, in order to seat about 12 people around 3 very small round tables.
Our food followed (only after my wife asked, how long it was going to be?). We had now been there about an hour. While the food was passable, to say the least. There was no opportunity for further drinks, or anything else for that matter, as waiting staff seemed to have disappeared. After finishing our mains, we then waited another 20min+ with no form of service. We would have had another round of drinks if we'd have been asked. My wife had all on to catch anyone's attention in order to get the bill. Once we managed to get someone's attention, they seemed somewhat bewildered to our request for the bill. The waitress, then went off to get our bill, or so we thought. It was at this point that we nearly just got up and walked out. (we really don't think anyone would have noticed, in all fairness). But we persisted to again get the attention of staff. 20 minutes had now passed. And we eventually got the bill, paid and left. Other than a reluctant apology, there was no recompense for the inconvenience of poor service. We spoke to another couple sat on a table opposite (they were local), and they had been there longer than we had.
An absolute joke, not worth the money, and not worth your time. They seem more interested in cramming customers in with Walk-ins, than satisfying the customers, they already have inside.
Shame as we'd previously visited here a few years ago, and it was a lovely place.

Read moreWe visited here before a show, having been a couple of times over the past 5 years or so. In the past, we found it quite pleasant but on this occasion things were very different. To be clear, my wife had steak, which was cooked to perfection but the rest of our experience was very underwhelming, and that in my opinion was being kind.
My wife, being on a diet, asked if she could exchange the chips accompanying steak on the menu, for vegetables. After going to discuss with chef, she was told this would not be a problem. He did not however mention the £3.50 charge to do so. I ordered a plain calzone and a cheese garlic bread. On arrival of my oeder, it had a spicy filling. I complained and it was taken away and exchanged. However on the return of my second pizza, parts of it were cold and so I left them. I did not want to recomplain as not only had my wife finished her meal, we were now in a rush to the theatre. The orders, including the replacement arrived exceptionally quickly, literally 5 minutes from 'order to plate' making me believe that they had been previously made and just warmed up. We got the impression that our order had not been mistakenly take, more the wrong pizza had been taken from the fridge. Further to this, we felt the staff were generally unprofessional and needed further training in customer service skills. The reasoning for this is: They were continually laughing and joking behind the bar with each other to the point I had to practically shout to get someone's attention. As soon as we had finished eating our meal, (we had been in the restaurant 40 minutes by now), we were asked if we wanted the bill, myself having two thirds of a glass of lager and my wife with a full untouched glass of wine still to drink. No - would you like the desert menu; would you like a coffee. Nothing of the sort. A group of 5 ladies, who came in half way through our meal, had ordered, had it cooked, eaten it and asked if they had finished and wanted their bill within 20 minutes or so arrival. Now, I could sort of understand wanting to hurry guests on a little if the place were queuing out of the doors, but the only guests in were us, the 5 ladies and 2 people on another table.
As for price, I felt it was over priced for what we had. £80+ for 2 main, 1 side and 3 drinks. We didn't consider the wine list, starting at just £29.50 for a bottle of house and £35+ for any other.
Needless to say, we feel the food (excluding the steak), the service and the atmosphere of Tricolos is strongly in need of improvement because it fails to meet past expectations and leaves a lot...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Triccolo s yesterday evening 7.30 pm to celebrate an anniversary and a birthday . We have eaten in Triccolo s approx 5 times before and loved it . What an awful shame it has come to this. The place was completely empty ( not their fault I know ) but therefore no atmosphere, however we knew the food was great and had only had a very light lunch so were hungry. We ordered our drinks , and ordered our favourite from the menu Calozone , really looking forward to it, after some time the waitress came over to say "chef is sorry he had burned the food , he says to tell you he is an idiot" , so ok still not too much of a problem , we had another drink and chatted , then the food arrived , looked great , but oh dear , was cooked and crispy at the edge but soggy and uncooked 2 inches in , at the same time the chef began a noisy clean down of the kitchen and the front of house staff began a noisy cashing up , an invitation to gobble it down and leave I think. However feeling by now uncomfortable we carried on to eat the uncooked dough , but then the real "get it down and get out !!!! the two front of house staff appeared with brooms and began to sweep a dusty floor , sweeping the dust towards our table . I have never ever experienced anything like that before . My husband had finished his food and although I still had half left as firstly it was uncooked and secondly I felt I had to get out I left it. The staff asked if we wanted dessert ???? ha ha the chef had left and they had cleaned up and cashed up !!!!! so no that was not an option. My husband went to pay , held out his card to be told " cash only , there is a sign in the window you know" !!! so after rummaging through my bag I managed to pay with my cash and we left never ever to return, !!!!!! sorry but never, ever...
