As a fellow business owner in the Kemptown area of 2 guest houses. I was treated in an appalling way by Sawadee Thai, Izzet the owner and his current manager an older thai lady.

I was a regular visitor of the restaurant for 2 years sending my guests and recommending the place. I held off writing this review but feel absolutely necessary to communicate on the truth of how I wast treated.

A few months ago I walked in and the manager did not give her normal customary response that any diner would receive. No hello, no smile or anything. I truly believe this was because I was a regular so no care on her part if she made an impression.

As in any customer service role you have the right to complain if you are not satisfied. This is what I did and the response was shocking. She told me in no uncertain words ‘don’t mess with me’ and she got really hostile. This to a regular customer. I left but thought Izzet the owner would have my back on this matter. I didn’t want one staff member to deter me so I kept ordering. Again every time with the same hostility even once recording me with her phone.

Izzet did nothing clearly there is no hierarchy at his business and his staff can get away with murder as long as his life is easy. He might give you a big smile but there’s no principles and values behind it.

I own a business and would stand up for regular guests. In the end I was the one that was asked to stop coming to the restaurant I have never been treated this way in my life. Just disgusted by the whole thing.

I have a good rapport with the local businesses in the area and have done so for years . I would recommend other business owners and diners to steer clear if you want any loyalty, honesty and respect. Its a big shame that I will never recommend a guest to this...

I ordered Tom Yum shrimp soup and they were very nice to remov the ingredients that caused my allergies. The portion was filling and satisfying. Cracking little restaurant in the heart of St James’ Street. Me and my girl friend left our friends house and was hungry so we went on the hunt for food. We looked at a couple of different restaurants and then found this one. It was quite busy but we could see a couple of free tables inside. The staff was so friendly and very attentive. The mango juice is lovely normally I would have a glass of wine or something but I was driving so settled on the mango juice. My friend had orange. I decided to go for the crispy duck. it's advertised as a starter however for me personally I had it as a main meal and that was fine for me. I did want a dessert but after eating that I seemed to have grown a food baby and I don't think I could've fit any more in. 😂 I’d definitely go back here again and would definitely recommend it.
