Update- manager called i forgot her name sorry !!(unfortunately she wasn't in that evening, although I wish she was because she was brilliant and clearly cared) She then went on to try and correct the situation in as many ways as she could from making sure that the refund has been sorted, offerered us free meals, down to speaking with staff and making sure this does not happen again!! Ps - Also It was only in this conversation that I also remembered the 1 great staff member there that night which rhe manager knows about and I hope he will now be entrusted to run the shop when managers like herself are not there.
I ordered food and it all turned up stone cold. I rang them telling them they didn't seem bothered and then told me I had to get a refund on just eat, i then told them I didn't want a refund I wanted hot food so I was then put on hold approx 5 mins (I had already started making my way to the shop) so I was nearly at the shop when i was told nothing they could do so I told them no worries ill be in the shop in two mins which I was. After a brief discussion they decided they were going to remake my food perfect!!! I was then asked to take a seat while my food was to be cooked but I had a feeling and decided to stay standing and thank good I did. I then watched the lady take the old chicken out of the bag, shake her shoulders and whack the chicken on the grill, which I didn't think was right, so i called her out !!! but this is when she told me that this chicken was now not for me, which meant that she has sent that chicken out to another person. Read moreI'm giving three stars not because it was bad but because it was an average experience. I ordered takeaway, the server was attentive and helpful. Once ordered I was stood for around 10 minutes and sat for 5 minutes after being asked to. It wasn't especially busy inside but around hallf the tables were taken. After one of the staff called out a different number I was asked mine to which I was given my order straight away.
I cannot fault the staff for this who were the generally hard working people you''d expect at a fast food establishment, but I cannot help but think the kitchen staff are not given the correct KDS assistance to help push out orders quickly enough. I couldn't see any modern system in the back while waiting.
After ordering I looked up the reviews of this place and it was about what I expected. I got home and the food was really great for the price paid. The chicken burrito was deliciously moreish and hot, the fries were still warm and importantly had a bite to them which you can't count on from anywhere, even gigantic chains. I just can't help but think the reviews of Pepe's across the board would be much more forgiving if they had an efficient KDS system.
I would certainly come here again for the quality of food vs price paid but don't expect a rapid delivery of food even if you walk in.
Pepe's please invest in your ordering system so that your staff can get the orders out. They are clearly doing their job right but it would help everybody if the kitchen had the assistance they needed. I will be going back but until you get that sorted out I can't say I will be able to get fast food. Read moreExtremely poor service! It was my first and last trip. I went in to place an order. They said I can have a takeaway under the buy to eat in half price scheme if I do a review on them in the spot. I obliged as the restaurant was very busy and all the tables were taken. There was another lady who also did the same. We placed our orders. She had her family and I had my family. They took my phone and did a review by themselves without showing me what they had typed. They they took my order and did not give me the half price rate but they gave the other lady it. I was served my the main older man and he did not give me my receipt. When I approached them to ask, the two younger staff said to wait for the person who served me. There were also police who had visited them. Eventually after waiting 20 minutes I spoke with the main older man who had served me and he immediately reacted very abruptly and rudely. He was very abrupt and printed off the receipt to check my order, all the while I’m waiting for the food. He refused to rectify the over charge and refund me saying that he’s not made a mistake when in my calculation he had over charged me by £7. I then asked him as to why he took my phone off me and give a good review, he got agitated. The younger woman got involved and was extremely rude to the point she kept repeating if I wanted my refund back. She wouldn’t even let me give my views and she began shouting.
