Ah, Pronto Lounge. A veritable sanctuary of refined gustatory and aesthetic experience, nestled amidst the, shall we say, robust urban fabric of Hull. To suggest a mere ten out of ten would be a gross understatement; one might as well attempt to quantify the ethereal beauty of a Botticelli with a common ruler. The building itself? A symphony of curated eclecticism. A deliberate pastiche of industrial chic and bohemian whimsy, where exposed brick whispers tales of forgotten artisans and velvet banquettes cradle the weary soul like a cherished sonnet. The lighting, oh, the lighting! A chiaroscuro masterpiece, casting flattering shadows upon the assembled cognoscenti, each sip of their meticulously crafted beverages bathed in a golden, almost reverential glow. And the atmosphere? A veritable salon, a haven for the discerning palate and the cultivated mind. The air hums with the gentle murmur of intellectual discourse, punctuated by the clinking of delicate glassware and the soft rustle of linen napkins. One feels transported, not merely to another locale, but to a higher plane of existence. Now, let us address the raison d'être of this establishment: the culinary offerings. Specifically, the Full English Breakfast. A breakfast, I dare say, that transcends the mere sustenance of the body and ascends to the realm of pure art. The sausages, plump and bursting with the subtle notes of herbaceous perfection, a testament to the butcher's unwavering dedication. The bacon, crisp and yielding, a delicate balance of smoke and salt, like a whispered promise of culinary delight. The eggs, sun-kissed orbs of yolky perfection, cradled within a bed of perfectly cooked beans, each glistening with a sauce that dances upon the tongue. And the toast, oh, the toast! A golden chariot for the accompanying delights, each slice a testament to the baker's artistry. To partake of such a breakfast is not merely to eat, but to engage in a ritual, a sacred communion with the very essence of gastronomic excellence. It is a moment of pure, unadulterated bliss, a fleeting glimpse of culinary nirvana. To leave Pronto Lounge after such an experience is to return to the mundane world, forever changed, forever yearning for...
Read moreOur party of 4 popped into the Ponto Lounge for a quick lunch after attending my daughters graduation ceremony. It wasn't too busy, and we found a table quite easily. The menu is quite varied, and we all found something we could eat. 1 Bacon Triple-Stacked Butter Milk Pancakes, 1 Tuna melt Panini, 1 Bacon Cheese Smash Burger, and 1 Korean Fried Chicken Burger, 1 Latte, 1 Mocca, and 2 diet coke with no ice. One thing I find very strange is the fact that you order your food through an app that then asks you to add a tip to the total before you have even seen your food or experienced the quality of service. I didn't add a tip, I can't see who would, and maybe that influenced our treatment from the staff. When the drinks arrived, the 2 cokes came with ice, so i pointed out that we didn't want ice. The guy that brought them out was very aggressive and said, "You ordered ice!" I said that if I did, i was a mistake, and could we have the ice removed. The guy just stormed off, leaving the drinks on the table. He returned a couple of minutes later, snatched the drinks up, and stormed off again. Around 5 minutes later, the guy returned with 2 cokes with no ice, and without saying a word, slammed them down on the table, and walked off. 3 of the meals arrived after around 10 minutes, and we had to wait another 5 minutes for the last one. The burgers and pancakes were very nice, but the Tuna melt panini was burnt and had no tuna in it. My wife didn't want to make a fuss about it, so we ate up and left. I don't think I can recommend this place to anyone, due to the rudeness of the staff and one meal being a...
Read moreRecently visited Ponto on Sunday around 13:30pm. Was welcomed by a very pretty restaurant and a polite server. However after asking how many were in our party did not guide us to an available table, just told us to look and find somewhere!
Asked another server if we were able to sit upstairs. Was very quiet and slightly abrupt however advised we could. Decided to sit upstairs, had a very pleasant view over the square.
You can order through QR codes or go up to the bar and order. We ordered through the QR. Has a very large and varied menu, appreciated the choice however felt unsure what the style of the food actually was!
Ordered a pink lemonade and a banoffee milkshake for drinks. Both delicious, not too sweet and very reasonable price.
For food we got the tapas offer. Opted for arancini, chicken wings and the mini pulled brisket chilli. We also got a pot of macaroni cheese on the side.
All of the food was delicious, the mac n cheese was creamy, arancini had an excellent texture and the chilli had a nice mild heat. The chicken wings were okay but a bit tough.
I would say the food is reasonably priced if leaning to slightly overpriced for the actual portion size.
Unfortunately no server came to check up on us and how the food was. No one saw us out either.
Overall would say had a mostly positive experience, do feel the servers could help to really make the lounge feel more like an experience rather than just a lunch stop. However the food was delicious and the restaurant is decorated...
