Archeron Games — Local services in Great Britain

My previous review: “Wow, what a hidden gem 🤯 this place is epic especially if you’re into tcg (playing/collecting). The Pokémon stock is astounding.” My updated review: It seems Archeron has become so fixated on squeezing their customers for as much money as possible. Retail prices are ignored for inflated market rates. My experience is that Pokémon product is at least 20% more expensive than it should be on average and single prices for desirable cards are more expensive than even recent sold eBay listings.

The management should probably review their approach to the recent boom in the hobby and focus on customer loyalty rather than boosting their short term revenue. I used to come into the shop and spend £50-£150 each week. Been into the shop 3 times in the last couple of months and walked out empty...

The store is well stocked but their communication in customer service is lacking. We asked on Facebook directly the night before we came if they had stock of x card game, they said ‘yes we are getting them in at opening time’ we were there on opening time (smack on time!) only to be told they sold them out to preorders days ago.. why were we encouraged to come in online being told they will be there today? The staff in the shop were very friendly. I really liked that you could buy pre painted models and there was a 'bits' section. I visit alot of game shops on my travels and am frustrated at weekends when you can't get in because the shop is taken up by people playing games. This shop has absolutely the right idea, a separated section for games to be played in, light refreshments avaliable for purchase too is a must in these days of games that last hours.
