Awesome chips Leicester — Restaurant in England

After waiting in line for about 15 minutes we got to order. Apparently, even though this shop mainly sells potato based products, we still had to wait for 15 additional minutes for a portion of fries, so we ordered chips instead. Even though there were 3 people ahead of us, we still had to wait 15 minutes for two small portions of chips.

The potatoes are stored outside at the front of the store, whereas potatoes should be stored in a dark and cold place. The potatoes were already soft, something that shouldn't happen.

When we finally received our chips, the boxes were handed to us by someone that was apparently not supposed to serve as their gloves were covered in grease, making the boxes extremely greasy as well. The two napkins we got handed with them were already partially unusable due to them glistening in the same grease.

The chips were inmediately put in the box where there was no extra room, so the chips got extremely damp and soggy. Along with that, they too were so greasy to the point you could actually squeeze it out of them.

After waiting for almost half an hour and paying nearly 10 pounds for these two portions, we left extremely unsatisfied. We tossed them in the bin almost immediately. Would not recommend going here if you...

I recently visited Awesome Chips in Leicester. I have been many times before. It is so conveniently located; right in the heart of the City Centre. The chips are of high quality; the portions are generous and are freshly cooked to order. The chips are not frozen; they peel the potatoes and fry them fresh on-site. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was served by Billie the Assistant Manager who is very knowledgeable; not only of the entire menu, but also all the variety of flavour combinations. She is always very polite; friendly, patient, and very attentive, a real asset to the business. The chips were nice and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. My chips were cooked by a very friendly member of staff called Khan, who also prepared my chips asking me if I wanted more of a particular seasoning, or wanted more sauce. The chips were piping hot, and tasted 'truly awesome' I would recommend this place to anyone who loves chips; and I know that once you try the chips, you will keep coming back. Tell all your friends if you are passing by; it is definitely a 'must try' and whether you take them home, or eat them on the go; you will not be disappointed. An excellent snack; anytime of the day. Let me be honest here, I revisited yesterday after 2 years and thought a lot about writing this review. I'm going to first point out how quickly our orders went through and were made. The staff members were very kind and got straight to the point when we ordered. They were very helpful and quick, which is the reason why the service is 5 stars.

The Piri sauce alongside our other mixes we had on top of our fries/chips made the flavour much more delicate.

The menu had lots of affordable, good options which I highly recommend you try one of each throughout different visits.

The atmosphere is quite small, given that the majority of the space is the kitchen and you will have to wait outdoors for some time. However, typically they are open during sunny times, so this isn't much of an issue.
