We currently have our first child in the NICU so it is very convenient that this pub is so close by. My wife and I first popped down last Friday for a quick bite in-between feedings. Unfortunately the place was so jam packed, the food orders were backed up and taking over an hour. The staff were very apologetic and offered us a refund without issue (we were the ones with limited time so it was not their fault they were busy). My mum and I popped back in the next day for lunch and it was delicious! That same night I went for a pint and without realising the time (945) I asked for wings, and was told the kitchen was closed, I told the gentleman working that I was spaced out because of all the feedings and he offered to make me something! I declined but the offer was appreciated. Went back the next day (Sunday) with my wife and both of our mum's and had the small roast, it was delicious and very reasonably priced. Read moreA pub of two halves. The vegan food on offer was excellent; great value and delicious. The bar staff however were dreadful; of the 'who's next?' variety. Being able to make a mental note as to who has been waiting the longest is the first skill a bar person should have. Pouring drinks is another important skill (hot glass, gin, flat tonic followed by a lump of ice does not a G&T make). Understanding the till and the menu and being able to handle cash are all things bar staff should be able to do. If you're expecting any of this you'll be sorely disappointed.
