The food may be amazing but they are definitely not an "All family friendly restaurant"
We are young families and were on a holiday and googled for Indian restaurants in Weymouth and since it is open a 5pm we had English food for lunch thought we can go for dinner. We are not bothered about price and WE COULD SEE HOW MUCH OTHERS HAD SPENT HERE ON GOOGLE.
There are 2 sleeping kids with us and we entered in and were greeted like this "Buggies not allowed" While thinking of leaving the buggy in the car and coming back, I heard this "Minimum £25 spend per person" in a harsh tone. The same could be conveyed in a different way.
The most disgusting experience right after entering a restaurant. We left the place immediately and went to the one opposite to it and had a good experience and we definitely spent more than £30 per person including drinks(Though it is a fixed price buffet on a Sunday night).
Note: The white family who entered right next to us were not told anything. Does it raise a red flag? Well.. surely it does.
Food comes next to the way you treat a customer.
ADVICE TO THE RESTAURANT: Keep a note at the entrance which highlights BUGGIES ARE NOT ALLOWED and mention the MINIMUM SPEND PER PERSON. That will help you. If someone is not comfortable, they won't step in. You have to learn from your mistakes, not retaliate on negative reviews. That is how you grow a business.
Have seen justifications for other negative reviews from the restaurant owners. Waiting to see the response.
EDIT: What else can you expect from a cheeky restaurant owner? Got loads of experience in satires and goofy attitude, but no decency. Thanks for adding drama to your response. The response says it all. Thank God we did not get a chance...
Read moreTerrible customer service and the food arrived at the table cold. We are four friends who came to Weymouth for an overnight stay and were really looking forwards to a nice meal. We admit that we had made a booking earlier that night which we modified but did not realise it wasn't cancelled. We apologised to the manager who received us and mentioned this to us as she took us to our table. This restaurant also has a policy that each guest must order a minimum of £19, this was not stated on the online menu clearly. We ordered our food but the rice, nans and the vegetable dish arrived cold. Rice should always be cooked and heated properly as this presents a food safety risk. We told the waiter who called the manager Sultana over and explained this to her and were shocked at her attitude towards us. She was unprofessional, patronising and underminned us. She simply did not want to hear our feedback and told us bluntly that nothing could be done and that everyone else was enjoying their food. Whilst that may be true, we were giving her feedback on OUR experience of the food. All we wanted was our food to be hot. She spoke to us like second class citizens and we strongly felt that her attitude towards us was simply due to the fact that we were not white. We paid the full bill and then left. I want to highlight that itwasn't fair that nothing was done about our cold dishes. We will be submitting a formal complaint but doubt nothing will be done as this restaurant is owned by South Asians who don't understand the basics of good customer service to everyone no matter their colour, ethnicity and race. Also this restaurant is not serving authentic Indian food and would not recommend. We have a picture of the...
Read moreThe worst “Indian” food I’ve ever had. We ordered a paneer shashlik, mini meat sizzler, tarka dhaal, 2 garlic naans & 2 chapatis. The paneer itself was fresh but had little to no seasoning (when I asked the host regarding this he said it was marinated but there was hardly any coating on the paneer) he then quickly recommended a chilli paneer dish which wasn’t any better, the chef hadn’t added salt to any dish. My husband’s meat sizzler was tough and lacked any seasoning/masalas, I have never seen that man walk out of a curry house without sweating and that night he did. My four year old refused to eat her tarka daal, when I tasted it, it just tasted boiled with no tarka to it at all, worse than baby food. The chapati which was described at thin leavened flat bread was thicker than the garlic naan. The host didn’t dispute when we asked no to pay for the curries which made us think it wasn’t the first time they’ve had these complaints. We paid £40 for the naans, roti, rice and drinks which was severely overpriced for a dinner we couldn’t even eat. Personally think if you see a brown/Indian family walking in maybe ask if they like their food authentic/more spicy as what they’re presenting as authentic food isn’t - they’ve marketed the food for their local white regulars but not for any of...
