Well where to begin.
A few of the locals declared it the best place to go for ribs. Not sure if they meant the bbq ribs or the painful type you get after throwing up for a few hours but hey ho we move on.
To be honest I was hopeful for some decent food but after being charged £3.50 for a small can of Guinness I did start to wonder if we'd made a bit of clanger.
Anyway, on to the food which to be honest wasn't to bad in a generic buffet style 'restaurant' and the ghurka curry was quiet nice.
However, it soon became quiet clear that the issue of cross contamination was in fact a significant, major, urgent, issue they certainly need to address.
Having an allergy to sea food I always avoid it. Being the sensible type person I am. But, what I hadn't noticed was the fact that a 'sea food' main dish was situated close to a chicken meal that I had put on my plate. My wife pointed out a while later that there was only 1 spoon for both meals and was worried I'd of had some of the sea food without realising.
Foolishly I dismissed my wife's concerns.
How foolish that was.
Within 15 minutes the lips were tingling faster than a schoolboy spiderman spidey senses while waiting for a Jim'll fixt it badge while bouncing on the knee of a famous artist/didgeridoo player.
30 minutes later. I had an out of body experience watching some poor soul loose 10 stone from every orifice in approximately 20 minutes. Leaving me a shadow of the man I was, sweating profusely with the nervous twitch of a young ling that had encountered a cougar with a large strap on with a penchant for pegging. Dry.
All in all it wasn't the best experience and I'd certainly avoid it in the future unless I had the weird and strange desire to try the 'loose 10 stone in 20 minutes...

(Dinner £13.99 an adult, WOW..)
Oh my... this really is the BEST place to eat in Weymouth.. It was SOOOOO... GOOD we even returned to Weymouth the following day, purely to eat here again..
This is a really interesting place.. the BUFFET restaurant is a floating platform which resembles a boat on the waterway along from Weymouth Harbour. There is seating both inside and outside, either at the front or on the waterside.
Loved the fact that the kitchen was open, on full view; the staff were so friendly and working hard constantly.
The buffet options were amazing, including Chinese, Thai, Indian & Nepalese.. My favourites had to be; The Crispy Aromatic Duck with Pancakes, Prawn Crackers and all of the Chicken dishes... AMAZING..
The price also includes ice cream, now the tubs of ice cream looked cheap.. but we really enjoyed it. There was also fruit options to add if you fancied. (Or you could pay extra for different dessert)
The drinks selection was also very good at reasonable prices.. pint of draught beer £4.50 / can of Guinness £3.50.. (We stuck with water on the second visit in order to enjoy the food more)
I really wanted to rate this as a 5*, as I did LOVE IT and would return however I do need to mention the 'Elephant in the room'... The occasional smell of stagnant water lingered.. Now this odour was not so repulsive to put us off eating, but I do wonder whether it gets worse in warmer weather.. perhaps an area that needs to be looked into?
Overall.. AMAZING, FANTASTIC and STUPENDOUS... Recommend, Recommend, Recommend.... Great food, lovely staff, good service, unique building with interesting themed features within and Great value...
Read moreJust been back again... On a tuesday.... And no roast too speak off. But beautiful Cantonese curries And they were really pleasing too the eye,and tasted just the same. I keep on harping on about prices in Weymouth. And today rather than spend £10 on chicken ,or a burger in a fast food chain... I opted for the gurkha. And for £12,ate some really nice and spicy curries, and of course followed by as much ice cream you can eat...🤔😋❤️ You cannot beat the Gurkha. Setting is just as beautiful next too the nature reserve. And the staff.. Are like my friends...♥️😇✨🥰
The meat is good, and I love the curries... Haven't been for a while. And was welcomed back. It is one of the best eateries in Weymouth. If you have s family on a Budget..❤️ Food is really good, and as long as you pace yourself ....... You can eat as much as you want....!!
I made that mistake first time. And ate five plates all of different varieties. Typical roast( Yorkshire puddings are really good). Nepanese cuisine, the mushrooms are too die for, saffron rice, and hot spicy beef curry.. And they do a nice dessert, ice cream and fruit cocktail.. Melon... Situated on the swannery.. I adore the friendliness,of the staff.. And also the Price..... But like I've said, with all it's good points. You can only eat as much as your stomach and taste buds can take..!!!
Been back again this Sunday ...... Had the nepanese curry... Followed by soup.. Then a English roast.. Then a large bowl of ice cream, and fruit.
Did ask and surprised(been caught twice parking tickets).......... There is limited free parking right outside the restaurant.🚗 Anybody whose in a...
