Social 8 Lounge hosted my 40th Birthday Party last weekend. I can’t thank you enough for the hospitality we received. From the very start of the planning, right up to the actual night. Connor and Emily have been fabulous in helping meet all my criteria and needs for the party I was hoping for. The Night itself was just amazing, all my close friends and family members together in one intimate, cosy, classy venue. I’d like to mention a special thank you to Ellie, who served us drinks and food upstairs in the private room for our family meal and helped set up before guests arrived, literally couldn’t of been any more helpful. And a huge thank you to Stelios who was our very own cocktail maker on the night! Super fun and express service which is exactly what was needed in a room full of Thirsty party people 😉 I had the Best Birthday Ever 🥳 Thank you all for making my night one I’ll always remember. You all delivered excellently, Top job to you all. I can’t wait to be back for my...
Read moreAttended here for my birthday and decided to go for the bottomless brunch..the restaurant inside is very nice. However, our experience was very poor. We felt that the staff were more interested in chatting to their "mates" at the bar, and we had to keep calling them over to replenish our drinks for the bottomless. I must add that the restaurant had only 3 other tables in so not busy, therefore should have been more attentive. I also witnessed a guy at the bar sneeze multiple times into his hands and clean them on a tea towel which then he used on drying glasses and then draped the tea towel over the coffee mugs. Our food arrived lukewarm so as a combination of all of this, we decided to leave the bottomless brunch without enjoying all of our allocated drinks. We had 3/7 (they offered us a free glass of prosecco as it was my birthday, which was kind). Overall, I was not very impressed, and for hygiene reasons, I would...
Read moreI visit social lounge every time I'm in York but was really disappointed this time. I was with friends in April and had lunch there. The belly pork was to die for so I took my daughter and granddaughter on 28th July. I noted the prices had increased but the portions diminished. In April we received 9 cubed portions of belly pork and with other small plates there was a lot of food. This time we received 1 portion about 4 inches long for £9.50 and the same for the deep fried brie for £9.50 the prawns were the only dish that was value for the money at £10.50. All in all it cost us £79 for 3 small plates a bottle of house wine and a diet coke. I would've said something but my granddaughter was with me and she doesn't like making a scene. Very...
