Recently stayed here for 3 nights. Such a disappointing stay. The toilet seat had excrement on it upon arrival, there was no remote control for the tv either, we asked when we booked for a cot which wasn't in the room either. Had to ask twice to get it delivered to the room. The carpets had a musky smell to them which was rather off putting. The sink in the bathroom decided to leak on the second night causing water to spread all over the floor, a plumber was called who said their company have been out to fix this numerous times without avail. When we checked out we asked to leave our bags with them as we had nowhere to keep them but they said because of the coronavirus this was not possible. They should specify this on their website or on the information sheet left in the rooms. We was on the 2nd floor with a baby and the lift only went to the 1st floor meaning we had to carry the pram up a flight of stairs everytime we went to the room. As for the bar on the first night a male customer got very aggressive after he was told he wouldn't be served anymore, he then started to threaten the customers and even threw a young woman at a table all whilst the staff stood by and did nothing at all. The tables were constantly left unsanitised after people had vacated them and one even took over an hour to be cleaned. The carpets were covered with food which stayed there all morning and was still their when we was in the bar around 8pm. The doors to the kitchen we're left wide open for all to see and I was shocked by the state of the kitchen which put us off eating in their again, this was after we had a stone cold breakfast. We complain the first day and were given one round of complementary drinks. we checked out and once again was offered complementary drinks which we feel didn't compensate for the problems we had on a daily basis. Upon leaving we was told the manager would be with us shortly.. after waiting for 25 minutes we decided to just leave after feeling the staff were not interested with our complaints. It was possibly the worst experience I have had staying in accommodation. I would stay well clear it was a disaster from...
Read moreThis is the worst spoon outlet that i ever been i ever visit i ever experince. We came in after 10:30am it it was busy as it was first day of cider festival. most table were taken and there were empty table but still cups, glassess, plates and dirty cable from previous customer hasn't been clean up yet. It took as a while to get clean table that show ready. We saw some management and staff on the floor working really hard to clean and get it ready for the next customer. We ordered some breakfast and it took more than half hour until it came to us, but that was after we came back to the bar asking about the food that we ordered and not been serve yet. So the person who took our order came to our table and said that our food were ready but the other staff member putted on the wrong table and it made us had to wait more longer to get our food on our table. Surprisingly, the food came out just not more than 3minutes after we mention to them. And we said to the management that this was a very bad service and very bad system that they runs. And she offered us some complement drinks on the house to make it up. So we got our food and our free drinks, but once start enjoying our meal, it was a shock that it wasn't made fresh. The fried eggs were dried, they were like plastic made, or a cooked fried egg then left it out for couple hours then try eat it (that how it was like) Sorry, but i have to say this: Please fix the system how to run the business...

The room was large with a comfy bed (albeit, 2 singles pushes together), plenty of sockets and USB charging points and tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Bedding, towels and room were extremely clean, the only downside was the lack of pillows - an additional 2 per room would be ideal.
Whilst, as described the room was excellent, by far the best feature was the shower - hot, great water pressure and spacious, it is honestly one of the best hotel showers I’ve had.
The one downside of the hotel itself, is the check-in procedure. Whilst the staff were fantastic, having to carry bags though the pub to the bar to begin check-in procedure could be a bit of a task on a busy night, luckily our stay was a Monday night so it was quiet.
On the evening, we had food and a few light drinks - staff, once again, were superb and food arrived promptly.
The following morning, for breakfast we also ate, this time the staff weren’t as friendly, and were in-fact quite rude and abrupt, not what I would expect and did let the venue down slightly.
But, other than the morning - we had an excellent stay, and being the first Wetherspoons hotel we stayed in has set an excellent precedent. If we are in the area, we will almost certainly...
