The Lawns Cafe — Restaurant in England

I have been coming to the lawns cafe for 17 years, and have always loved the location and found the staff really friendly and efficient. The last 2 times, however, the service had been really poor. The first occasion the young server took forever to get my simple order (usually just a toasted tea cake)because she kept getting distracted and serving other customers. The second time they completely forgot to my order and I had to go up and remind then. By then my coffee was cold! I was not given an apology and was made to feel I was being impatient. I don't know if there has been a change in management, but it has not been a good experience, which is a shame as the teacake, when it did arrive,...

I remember coming here not too long ago. Ordered 3 cheeseburgers and 1 chicken burger, all with chips. The only good thing about the order was the chips. The cheeseburgers didn’t even have cheese, they were just hamburgers with rocket as a salad. I’d asked for some satchets of ketchup as they didn’t put ketchup in my burger like I asked and only gave me one. When I asked for more, they said no as they were running low. Ontop of the burgers not coming with cheese, the bread was stale and the burger tasted like it was frozen in cardboard. This order came to £20 something and the portion wasn’t even that big! Definitely going McDonald’s next time. Waste of money and staff...

We stopped off here with my granddaughter this afternoon and the guy who served us made her day! Service with a smile, a laugh and a joke plus he rose to the challenge of producing a hot chocolate to rival mine for her. What started as a plain mug of hot chocolate ended up with squirty cream, marshmallows, sprinkled chocolate, a spoon and 2 straws....she thought it was amazing. So thank you for making her feel special. The chips with cheese and cappuccino were great too....
