We were in Bournemouth and wanted some dinner, this area had loads of restaurants, and we opted for the Real Greek. Had never been to one before, but as a bonus they were advertising free kids meals. We were seated quickly when inside and took a while to order but only as we were trying to work out what we might want...! Deciding on the fixed price menu option (and kids meals for kids) we got ordered and food shortly arrived afterwards. The fixed price had some cold and some hot, and the cold items came first which meant there was a bit of an overlap between the adults eating the kids finishing theirs. Food was nice, although did get a bit of food envy looking at what the table next to us ordered! The only item I wasn't keen on was the chicken that came with my daughters kids meal (she didn't like it). Meal total came to about £55, so was fairly reasonable, but it's another one of these places that auto add the service charge unless you tell them not to, so would have been closer to £50. (Fixed price was about £18 each, but we also got a side of chips and drinks..)

I visited The Real Greek at BH2 in Bournemouth on Monday 28 September 2020 at lunchtime, a weekday during term time. I was with one other person. This was my first visit. The restaurant comprises of one fairly large sized main dining area with plenty of tables with full table service. The team were very friendly, informative and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I enjoyed the chicken Souvlaki wrap with rice for my main course and a Greek Filo Custard Pie for dessert. The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted really good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was good value for money, I paid around £14 for the two courses and two drinks. Overall I enjoyed my visit and would come and visit again.

Well let's just say it wasn't very Greek and it wasn't very nice in fact it's an insult to real Greek food and a Greek person would be very offended being served whats nothing more than cheap produce and really badly cooked and presented as authentic Greek food. The staff were nice but very busy and so we waited too long for our drinks took nearly 30 mins and then we were sat by the entrance to the toilets and had to move due to the stench as people were coming and going into the toilets my nephew went in and came out and said they were filthy. The prices were ok but not cheap and then you served with a small wrap, on a small plat the wrap was very dry and with a teaspoon of sauce mint yougurt and a few raw onions with about 12 chips that were cold, hard and dry. The actual wrap doesn't wrap around the food, but they disguise this with paper. They couldn't get the order correct, and yet they must be asked for various ways to have the meal every day. Likeno sauce, no tomatoes, etc. Even when it was sent back to make a fresh one, it was back within 60 seconds exactly the same way, and all my friend asked for was no tomatoes and got no sauce or onions, or hullumi. The waitress had written notes, but they didn't do it properly regardless. The starters were ok, but it's not hard to serve a plate of hummus with some flat breads, and hallumie popcorn was ok hardly any honey on, so a bit dry. We didn't eat our mains due to everything wrong with it. The chicken in the wrap served to my newphew tasted like chemicals, and I had to spite it out and tell him not to eat it, so I don't know what was going on there but it was bitter and inedible with a terrible after taste. All in all, we won't be going back, and I warn others there's better, more authentic Greek restaurants around, and you would have much better authentic food experience for the same price or even less. Bournemouth is a tourist area taking full advantage of families on holiday, and this restaurant is one of them. It's not a 'real' Greek restaurant in any form. It's more like doing the bare minimum to try and pass it off as authentic.

I love Greek food, but this one was lacking in quality. We had 2 lunch sets, and neither was very good. The pork skewer was half fat, half chewy overcooked meat with 2 out of 5 meat pieces mostly inedible due to large cartilage. The chicken skewer was also overcooked and very dry to the point of getting hard. The sides were a bit disappointing as well: the Mediterranean rice was mostly dry plain rice with a tiny bit of tomato sauce, rather than the rich tomato rice with tiny bits of veg I'm used to from Greek restaurants elsewhere. The boiled wheat had a better ratio of sauce and small onion pieces, but nothing standout flavour wise. Honestly we enjoyed the flatbread and dips the most, but you get that with better quality meat in even cheap takeout Greeks here, so we won't come back. Also note that the doors to the restaurant stand open before opening hours, so we were asked to leave again and come back after noon (we tried to go in at 11:47). On a good note, the restaurant as well as the toilets were very clean and the dining area spacious.

Well, youāve come to the one star section for a reason, so letās get right into it. Unauthentic, overpriced. Unauthentic. The place calls each of the small dishes below a āmezeā, which is not what a meze is. They use the word meze to justify small portions and slow service, not to provide an authentic meze meal experience. We also had the Souvlaki which was dry, did not come with any sauce and not even lemon! Overpriced. Each of the meze plates cost between Ā£6.25 and about Ā£7.95. The calamari you can see in my photo was Ā£7.75, which anywhere else would come as itās own meal for that price. In total a meal for three came to Ā£80.90, but I estimate the value of the meal compared to elsewhere to be around Ā£50. An authentic meze experience should be pretty much a set menu, that is plate after plate brought out until youāre stuffed for a reasonable price. Eating here will make you build your own overpriced meze that will gouge your wallet and leave you still hungry.

After getting to know Niko, Earnest and josef, I apologise if I've spelt any names incorrectly! My dining experience has been flawless, the food is well cooked ambience is all in balance with noise of cooking other guest and entertainment! I inquired about the limited edition cocktail the King for the weekend period and was told at the time ingredients weren't there, however by the suggested return visit that day around 16:00 the ingredients were all assembled and I was able to give The king Cocktail a go! All I can say is OPA! It was delightful and I was the first one to try it I would highly recommend! Not just the drink but the professionalism off the staff and the flavour of the food! ĪĻ ĻαĻιĻĻĻ The Real Greek and obviously Niko, Earnest and josef!
