Came to Whitby for a long wk end with my partner and 2 friends. So we called in here on Saturday 24th July, we have been many times before when visiting Whitby...My friend went and ordered the drinks at the bar whilst we found a table, upon my friend coming back He turns to us ladies and says "The barmaid has just said why are you only ordering 3 drinks when there is 4 of you we ain't a charity! Well I was absolutely fuming but was told to let it go ! For your information I am on antibiotics so cannot drink Alcohol and (instructed from my GP,) not that is had nothing to do with YOU. Obviously you CERTAINLY DONOT HAVE NO CUSTOMER CARE ! MAYBE YOU SHOULD GO ON A COURSE YOURSELF!!! Traditional old pub right on the side of the river in the centre of Whitby. The place was packed on a Friday night and there was also a couple singing and playing folk songs on the guitar. I had a Butterscotch vodka, which was a special, advertised on the bar, and it was one of the tastiest drinks I've ever had....delicious! No needd for a mixer, you don't want to dilute the taste. I don't normally like to post negative reviews, as it isn't my nature to do so. If it was just based service/food then I understand that everyone has an off day. But the bouncers xenophobic attitude to my brother's fiancé was unforgivable. Pretending he doesn't understand her (she speaks better English than me), and refusing her ID for the reason that it was a French ID card.
